Not at all. Like I just said above. If that's your opinion then fine, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. There will be an equal amount that back him then a few who are somewhere in the middle.

That's the whole idea of this place, varied opinions, discussion and debate.

If the lads you talk about only ever bowled in the pub after defeat and called everyone that disagreed with them happy clappers and were nowhere to be seen after wins then yeah Id call them a sad cunt too. In the same way Id be sad cunt if I dissappeared off here after evert defeat then only waded in waving my cock about after a victory.

To me this is just a dip in form. If you think its more than that then cool. Debate away and we will see come May.

Many of the lads I know well & talk to spilt blood and some did serious time supporting the whites over the years, loyal as fuck and who love BWFC but many don't bother with forums etc (several used to a few years ago) - you may probably know some of the same lads.

This is the best BWFC forum by some distance, but believe me it isn't reflective of the wider fan base. Your 'grown up' comment is a bit daft IMO - we don't all have to agree or do we if we are to be classed as grown up ?

Again read what I said. I was referring to wallies that appear out of nowhere like clock work every time we lose a football match and flood this place and others with the same shit week after week and are nowhere to be seen after a win.

I never said the wider support was fully behind Evatt. I am, many others are too and probably loads arent. That's the nature of football and an indifferent season.

Such as the fickle old nature of most supports it will only take a few wins to sway folk. Same the other way too.

The nob heads I speak of are those that entrenched in their views they cant see anything but doom and go silent when things are rosey.

Great post 👏

Best bit being the above.

Nobody who is a season ticket holder, turns out for cup games and travels away from home is happy with our results (although we have won a couple playing poorly!)/performances this last month.

But Christ almighty if you’re going to criticise at least offer some perspective.

Perspective - promotion, after being landed with a load of dross at start of season. Strong 1st season up in L1. Evatt very much part of the restoration of the football structure at the club, bringing in players of good character that have connected with the community. Some tremendous football at times, best for a decade. We set off at full tilt v Wycombe and blew them away, breathtaking that day

Concern - the pattern of good starts then big drop off, Jan shake up, strong Spring. Can't be the way every season. Too rigid belief in a particular way, with a squad that reflects it, still losing to the same types of opponents in the same manner. A lot of incoming bodies last Jan / this Summer but not sure I can see any evolution at moment. I'd love his way to win out as I really enjoy it when it works but am not convinced it'll get us in the play offs and some pragmatism might be needed

A bad day but at least we experimented and learnt a bit without losing points......a back 4 doesn't work for us & Dapo isn't deserving a starting place, jury still out on Sadlier but i still struggle to see his position in our best 11, but i agree that Dempsey & Bod have earned starts.

Hopefully we'll go back to the 5 who gave us the best defence in the league, Bradley, Jones, Santos,Johnston, Iredale, with a bit of a shuffle of the other 5, my choice of Dempsey +2 (probably Lee & Thomason ) , & Charles & Bod upfront.

Whatever, I trust IE to get it right.

So basically what you're saying is; these "lads" are more loyal than fans who haven't spent years getting into scraps with opposition fans, therefore the club should pay them more heed than anyone else?

Well you said they were "loyal as fuck" because they had "spilt blood", implying that fans who don't want Evatt to be sacked and haven't 'spilt blood' are less loyal? Maybe I read it wrong.

His suggestion we meet them in pubs is also a little perplexing

Why cant we chat at the game?

Many don't go to every game any more, but they have been to as many as you have over the years - many prefer to chat over a pint in the pub before or after a game what's wrong with that ? can they only discuss things in the stadium ?

Good post. The perspective is fair as are your concerns.

I think the solutions to the problems are debatable. It’s arguable in this last month he’s been the opposite of rigid. Losing (or in this case not beating Barnsley) to opponents in the same manner could also be challenged, as we’ve had 2 completely different set-ups against them within 3 weeks.

Yes you read it wrong - trying your best to discredit others posts like you try to do.

I do not think the majority of our fans want Evatt out and can see the fact we are progressing

However I do think the majority get frustrated by his decision making and a level of confidence that comes across as inflexible arrogance at times.

My biggest concern this year is that we are in November and I would guess if you asked 10 fans our best team you would get at least 10 different teams. We do not even have a formation that we play too. Recent games at FGT, Cheltenham, Accrington and home V Oxford show teams are starting to counter our style of play.

Thanks for clarifying. Not sure why you're holding them up as though they're the core of our support then, as though their opinions matter more than anyone elses.

I'm sorry but I'm honestly struggling to see where I said this.

You said WanderersWay's doesn't reflect our wider fanbase, therefore a few balloons calling for Evatt's head in the pub should be taken seriously. That's all.

Never like losing but best result for us as far as I'm concerned.    Fa cup meh,   a pittance reward financial wise till the late rounds,  and going off the attendance am sure a lot think the same.

The fa cup obviously has the tradition and as a club we have a great history with it but surely it needs to somehow be dragged into now and maybe revamped with money pumped in to start attracting interest of the fans that go to games week in week out

Yes but when it comes to 2nd round day we've no game.  Some people might like the weekend off (fair enough) but it might have been Buxon or Fylde away, then a home tie against Newcastle.  Surely anyone that was at the Villa game enjoyed the "big match" atmosphere in a no-lose game.  Not to mention the financial rewards of TV and gate money.  Losing in the FA Cup is rarely a good thing, and we'll now make alternative plans for 26th November and not bother watching the cup draws on Mondays.

I hate it when we’re not in the draw, a good run can be a catalyst for getting a run going. I’m proper gutted not stormed out of the ground as pissed off for a long time.

Four Four Fucking Two.

It was to be the cure for all our ills... until it wasn't. As sloppy a first half as I've seen under Evatt. Granted there were flashes up top, but my God, we were soft defensively.

Got a lot better second half, reverting to the formation and setup the players have played all season. But then, the game was pretty much lost as Barnsley just had to sit in, and they did it well. 4 at the back was an experiment which, given it was a cup game, was certainly worth the gamble for IE. Just didn't pay off this time.

Seems there are a few managerial moaners on here, and in the stands. Fuck me, shall we sack it all off and have a merry go round of pub league cloggers like Adkins, Appleton, Coleman, Adams in charge?

As an aside, Bod was excellent and deserved his goal. Its a shite cliche, but he really does have a "great first touch for a big lad". Just wish he'd show it consistently enough to make the starting spot his own.

It was never that.  It was partly to get Dapo and Sadlier in the team, in a position that gives them a chance.  Today was an improvement overall.  That was better than any recent games (or halves) of playing 5 at the back, IMO.  But if Charles is misfiring, if we don't have shots on goal it doesn't matter if its 2-5-3 or 4-4-2, the ball won't end up in the back of the net.  I fail to see how we were softer defensively than we were v Oxford, Burton, Accrington, Cheltenham etc.  That Barnsley 2nd goal happens once or twice a season, the first an OG that was either unlucky or poor by Santos but zero to do with formation.

Settled down after some jerk chicken and rice n peys. Home made.

Just meh about today, we did well in patches, not so well in others. Disappointed with the crowd turn out, was expecting more.

Today just confirmed to me, and I say it every week, I'd like a team where Dempsey and JDB are the first two on the teamsheet.

Nothing against Dempsey but Lee was a class above him today, not only attacking wise but winning the ball back, and he's also a goal threat.  As soon as Lee is removed, that's one more potential scorer gone and we don't have many.

He was woeful today… don’t expect him to be here after January.

I'm really struggling with that, and yes I'm only talking about the 1st half, he was absent in the other 15 minutes or so, no service to him.  A winger is supposed to create, and he did that.  And as we have seen, if there's an opportunity to score, he's more likely to take it than everyone in the squad except JDB maybe.  If he's not here after January, do we have a better player lined up?
