Bird Flu

Spreading like wildfire over this way. Stanley Park lake closed off, loads of swans bit the dust.

All houses had leaflets to stay away from birds.

We will be in lockdown by December. Fact.

Some Poultry farmer on the radio last night, saying that he's had to cull his entire flock of chickens and turkeys  - so no doubt there will be a turkey shortage this Christmas

Quorn likes this.

Large piece of pork already in the freezer just in case.

I'm actually going to have a go at butchery tomorrow, so there might be some pork going cheap! 😁

Went for a walk up the North-East coast of Scotland late summer. The beaches were littered with dead gulls. Never seen anything like it. Awful for wild birds and only made worse by factory farming.

Can they not just lock down the birds instead?

Roast beef on Xmas day this year, boxing day chinese takeaway with the kids.

Off to the Blundell on new year's eve, might go for a full Xmas dinner then.

Get to Iceland, buy a load of frozen Turkeys and flog them for a profit when Christmas is cancelled again

Turkey is wank anyway would rather lick spazzy Darren's armpit.

Having had my nose less than a metre away from it at the north lower bar the other week, I’m here to tell you to go for the Turkey, brother.

Not been up there for a few weeks. What’s that Arrivals Board at Fairhaven saying? Are the scheduled flights coming in on time or giving the place a swerve? Heading elsewhere?

Pinkfooted geese are due in anytime but they all have to show proof of vaccination and only fly in twos.

Some are refusing to take the vaccine as they think its all a conspiracy.

Got to ask the Queen’s permission as she owns…

Oh, fuck. I wonder if she left all the swans to Charles in her will.

On a visit to Cambridge City Centre last year, we found out that it's an Urban Myth that the Monarch owns all the swans - also apparently, students at St John's college, are still legally allowed to hunt and eat swans. I'm not so sure they actually do this these days, but with the cost of living crisis, who knows

That must be tricky, hunting a swan.
