The last update was to add the Gallery feature to the website so members could add their pictures and easily find them.

We are looking at giving members a 'better' experience and therefore looking for ideas.

Sensible replies only - stupid remarks may see your posting privilages removed :nea:

Blogs are shite..so that's a no for starters.

PS

If you write a load of old cobbbles it will be removed, like I said, sensible replies only.

Over to you. :good:

What have you seen on other sites what you feel work well and would be of benefit to wways?

I quite like the facility that they have on both tw and bb, where the link back to the body of the forum is shown at the bottom of the page as well as the top of the page.

For instance on this thread the link back line is -

:WanderersWays: > Technical > Site News & Admin Question Time.

I know it is not that difficult to scroll back through all the posts on the thread page but if the link back line is at the bottom of the page and there have been several posts on the thread, it is far easier just to click on it.

I know there is partly that function now, at the bottom of the page - but you do not have the facility to go straight to the main forum page.

I guess it is just a personal choice - but I certainly use the facility myself when visiting the other sites.

In the bottom right corner, there is a facility to go anywhere on the site.

Yes I know - but you are required to call up a menu to do so.

I just find it so much simpler using the system on the other two sites.

Another minor feature I like on some sites is the ability to amend your post - after posting - and before anyone posts after you - without the message that this post as been edited.

My grammar and spelling are not the best - and I nearly always spellcheck before I post - and read over what I have typed - but Sod's Law being what it is, I sometimes see a mistake in my post immediately after I post it.

It might be pedantic of myself to go back and edit my posts correctly - but I figure if people are giving me the courtesy of reading my posts then the least they deserve is the courtesy by me to at least make sure that my posts are at least as free from grammatical error as my 'O level' in English Language allows me to be.

What sort of things are there available to us?
Just go and search, surely you use other sites? What function/facility do you like best?

Go to your Control Panel and change your settings to Standard from rich text and then you can download ieSpell which is a spell checker.

I reckon the website could do with a new "look" The banner at the top looks shite. Bigger banner (possibly one that changes on each visit like the KUMB west ham site*)

*well it used to change!!!

What do you reckon?

I'm thinking more of 'bolt-ons' for the site.

I've considered a chat room but they take up too much bandwidth. But it's still an option.

Blogs are sh?te and so 'last year'.

Interactive games?

How about an auction site or somewhere to sell your old stuff, ebay style?

Reebok Review is currently full of UEFA Cup stuff and how Rangers did. OK, the link to Bolton is about how it should have been us in the finals but, let's get over it and plan for future away-days . . . could be WBA, Newcastle, etc. Could be Blackpool, Burnley, etc. Personally I ain't bothered; I'll still be watching.

Or BSA going to City. (Or att least City may be after a manager and BSA is an ex-manager so we can guess!)

Why not have a Bolton Review and a "Football General Review" Get rid of some of the crap about other teams.

I take your point, people WILL still post stuff in the wrong sections no matter what we do.

MickyD the next MOD of the Reebok View forum with powers to shift posts. :good:

I like the idea of a chat or games.

Hmm, the chat room was hardly a raging success last time, was it?

There was only really Alibob who used it on a regualr basis.

I was thinking we could have a all other sports forum,ie boxing, cricket, and sport in general,

or a news forum were we could chat about the daily news, and save the banter forum for pub chat.

Mmmm. A pub tap-room for the banter. Smoking or non-smoking? :pardon:

Welcome to your control panel

Manage your ignored users This section allows you to set up your ignored users list.

When you add a user to your ignore list, any posts they make will be masked until you specify that you wish to read them. You may not be able to ignore users if they are in a member group which doesn't allow them to be added.

If I could see Happy's posts he'd probably say something like:

Could be wrong though! :unknw:

seeing as no one else has mentioned it, what about ignoring users?

(sorry!)

I do think a football banter forum separate from the reebok review as previously mentioned would be a good idea. Somewhere we can talk about playoffs etc. Although I suppose with the end of the season approaching, the reebok review might be a bit dull apart from the rumours of rivaldo signing.
