  1. Do you? Not me, I hope Burnley get a stuffing at home tonight against the Arse, a draw on Saturday, don't want any teams around us getting 3 points, should keep their confidence down enough to get a hammering from us on Boxing day
  2. The appeal system gets its first test............................................. Bloody Hell, overturned. We needed a wicket as well
  3. I agree, Davies struggles when he gets an early yellow, it takes the edge off his game and as for Taylor I don't know what's wrong with him at the moment. Other than that I was happy with the nights efforts. Great performances in particular from Knight, Robinson, Chungy, Cahill and Klasnic. Gardner for Taylor and Basham for Muamba (if he is suspended?) for the pie eaters Monday. Why do some people boo, moan, get frustrated when we pass backwards or sideways? Can some folk not see that sometimes it helps us maintain possession and this is sometimes preferable to hoofing it up at the first opportunity? I am sure the players can hear/sense the fans frustration and consequently would be affected by such a reaction.
  4. Coldest I can remember was December against Norwich 1995 in League cup 0 -0 then lost on pens. we all had to jump up and down in the paddock to keep warm - it was literally bloody freezing that night.
  5. Agree with this one lad, baby sitters sorted, (first game for an age without the nippers!) may even get down for a pint beforehand! COYFWM!!!!
  6. Gees it's grim there. Poor "thing" needs cheering up if she lives round there, it makes Jonny fold seem like sunset boulevard
  7. I certainly don't claim to be an insider at PNE and my opinions are just that, however I do quite a bit of work with PNE, in particular with the acadamy, Greeny (Scott Green) is part of the set up, and in conversations with him, aside from reminiscing tales of the "glory Rioch days" it seems pretty clear Irvine is well respected and is held in high opinion by staff and players. The majority of fans seem to like him. Ok he is going through a bad spell at the minute, but since he has been in charge he has got the best out of an average set of players. Apparently his work ethic is second to none, learnt from being alongside Moyes no doubt. He has worked with some class players, Rooney, Arteta and has expressed how much he has learnt from working with players of that calibre. With a limited budget he has done pretty well bringing a balance to the side. I have met Alan Irvine a couple of times and heard him speak, he does seem to have a fantastic insight into the game (although I am no expert in judging this, just an opinion) and has come across on each occasion as a thoroughly decent chap who speaks well to the public, media and fans (again no blueprint for success on the pitch but would a welcome change from the present) As has been said he fits into the realistic category. Irvine for me gets the thumbs up
  8. England South Korea Chile Switzerland Group B
  9. I think we are one of the best 4 teams in the world at the moment. We have an outside chance but I think Brazil and Spain in particular are the teams to beat. Heart says win, head says quarter/semi.
  10. Everyone will have their favourite ideal schedule, for me drawn as C1 would be the pick; Sat 12th 7.30pm Nice evening weekends getting pissed Fri 18th 7.30pm " " " " Wed 23rd 3pm (early finish to see us qualify! Or irrelevant because after winning first 2 it's elementary!) Worst F1 Mon 14th 7.30pm Sun 20th 3pm Thurs 24th 3pm
  11. 2 mugs please. Do we know payment, collection details yet? Cheers
  12. Whites victory 2-1 Crescendo's of McGinlay tunes and jingle bells
  13. Positives - Much better performance. Defensively more solid. Steinson had good game (despite the sitter at end he missed). Klasnic much better than Elmander. They didn't look dissolusioned like last week. Can we build on that in next few games? Negatives - Fulham better side. Gave away possession too easily. With Wigan and West Ham winning and Hull getting a draw at city there is a gap appearing from the bottom 3. Massive 6 pointer next week
  14. My honest opinion is that, regardless of how many times Megson has seemingly saved himself when all else seems lost, there will be no come back this time. I think we will get beat comfortably at Fulham. Even if we serve up the same unentertaining dross (which I have been happy to accept in the past if it gets results) and manage to scrape something, this, with the tide of opinion well and truly against him, will still not be enough, it will just carry on to the next inept performance. However, regardless of my changing opinion that he needs to go I still can't bring myself to ever wanting us to lose or wish bad upon the team to get rid of a manager. Therefore in my opinion the only way out of this and to turn a corner is win and win with some flair and entertainment. Ok it's extremely unlikely this approach will be adopted and executed. And it in all liklihood it could have the reverse effect and see us on the back of a tottenham style thumping. But for me the team needs to read something like this; Jussi Steinson Samuel O Brien Cahill Gardner Muamba M Davies Chung Yong Klasnic K Davies
  15. Envelopes? The only ones I saw were the ones mocked up by panarama in their back offices, while they played dramatic music in the back drop of dark streets as if we were expecting to see Big Sam appear from behind a corner. Have you seen something different from the rest of us in relation to brown enevelopes? And as for ego, I prefer the term self belief, without that he wouldn't have had the success he did with us. I didn't like the way he left, but as others have said I won't let that taint the memories he provided. And for his heart op I can only wish him all the best.
  16. It may offer an excuse for part of the game yesterday, although why his general passing with his left foot, regardless of where he was on the pitch, was so poor, is still baffling. I still think his form this season, from in the main his favoured left side, is poor in comparison to the previous 2 seasons.
  17. Gartside has told the BEN, it's not a time to panic. He will probably get at least the next 2 away games
  18. What is wrong with Matt Taylor? He was particularly awful yesterday. I can't remember when he last had a good game. And how on earth he stayed on the pitch till the end is baffling.
  19. The apathy from everybody just about sums us up. The players for the first time just didn't look up for the fight, the fans dealt with this by leaving and silent discontent and perplexion. As many others have said earlier I have tried to support Megson, but its getting more difficult. In his post match interview he talks of unhappy players, he has to take the brunt of this. Worrying times. The only bright outlook is 2 away games to follow and the fact that he always drags us out it when all else seems lost, however I feel this time it may be a bridge too far for him.
  20. Got sorted with tickets for his "tour" next year. Even though only officially on sale from 11.00 if you register on his website you get a link to have a go at purchasing prior to 11, need to have a bit of patience but got their oin the end. Thought the video to his Children in need tune was great - kids loved it and have wanted to watch it on repeat throughout the morning! Will probably be sick of it before the days out!
  21. No Doubt a whole host of players Alan Ball, Paul Mariner, Filtcrofts
