  1. Le Havre lodged a complaint on Monday against a man accused of arranging a trial for one of their young players at Bolton, who then returned to Paris having been turned down. The player in question is a 17 yr old graduate of the academy at Le Havre, called Wesley Ngo Beng. He was absent from 21st to 24th November in Bolton under the pretext of visiting his father, without Le Havre's permission to undergo a trial which later proved to be unsuccesful. The club therefore accused Franck Hubert of Le Havre of persuading the player to attend a trial organized by himself but he "denied any implication in this business", he is also alleged to have left the player all alone in Paris on his return from Bolton, "putting his physical and moral integrity in danger". A member of the club went to Paris in the middle of the night to bring the player home but was prevented from doing so by the police force in Blanc-Mesnil, who had found the player. The situation becomes complicated because of the family context around Ngo Beng: his mother is imprisoned and his father has no custody rights, so he had been placed under the moral supervision of one of the leaders of the club. "We have obligations with respect to the young people we look after, a member of the club insisted. We made guarantees to his mother. Our young player returned shocked because somebody made him lavish promises, but then left him abandoned after having served his purpose. He felt betrayed. There are people (poor quality agents) who are not acting in the best interests of our young players, only out to make money ", denounced Jean-Pierre Louvel, the president of Le Havre Athletic Club. The club thus decided to take this matter to the authorities "to strike a blow against the conmen and swindlers and to have the support of the other French clubs" also confronted with this problem. According to the president of Le Havre, who presented the issue to the federal authorities, "this case illustrates the urgency for UEFA to make legislations in this area". At present, no contact has come from Bolton towards Le Havre, according to the Normandy club.
  2. Maidstone Monument is still at Thorpe's yard. It last ran on 10th September 2006 when as a 7/2 fav it was pulled up with a muscle injury. Hasn't reappeared yet, and at 11 yr old it takes a bit longer to recuperate. IMO it won't reappear until the ground stops being heavy, as it goes best on good going.
  3. I agree mate, 2 poor rides from half-decent jockeys, BUT tomorrow's jockey isn't too good at all.
  4. Class 2 racing MK. This horse has been found wanting at this level, but a low weight and a 5lb claim from the apprentice might help get a place finish. I also like the look of Red Spell in this race.
  5. The DS Lite alone is worth ??100, and there's a game with it. Anybody else interested in either of these?
  6. I strenuously deny the allegations. Plus I've never saw you at Ripon: it was Ponty!
  7. Could Derby's approach for JJ be termed a Ram raid?
  8. Brand New and Unopened: Xbox 360 Premium complete with Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Nintendo DS Lite complete with Big Brain Academy. There's around ??400 worth of gear there: sensible offers only please. Yes, I will split them.
  9. Who knows: we might find a right back.
  10. James VI of Scotland (James I of England) was the last King of Scotland. He died in 1625: aged 61. he died from a fever the doctors said wasn't life-threatening, but he chose to ignore their advice by deciding to drink large amounts of ice cold beer to numb the pain and cool the fever. He was obviously more in touch with us commoners than our current Royals.
  11. He'll need to put some hole-hearted performances in.
  12. Isn't it Thursday? Yes, so am I, let's have a cup of tea.
  13. I'm sure you could have found a better picture to symbolise the name: Dutch Bird.
  14. It's not a glitch, it's a reward for booking other flights. Apparently, if you book using that code and you haven't bought another flight at normal Ryanair prices, you'll be turned away at the airport or be forced to pay the going rate for that flight.
  15. Where and when did I own up to that? PS I'm not Natasha, I'm Keyser Soze.
  16. Health and Safety still prefer Hi-Viz jackets for some reason. PN is a teacher: he's used to being a scruffy c??nt at work: it's in his job description.
  17. Apparently Undies' back gates have been ripped off their hinges.
  18. Who's hacked into AWO's account? ::::::::::::::
