  1. if we don't take him, someone else will that's for sure. lee hughes has done far worse and is still playing the game. six months down the line if he is a changed character no one will be batting an eyelid about his past. he will actually get more credit for turning it around than someone who's never put a foot wrong. you never know taking one up the gary glitter in strangeways might have sorted him out and taught him a lesson.
  2. it has, we never sold out at burnden that first season in the premier. crowds and size of club wise i would equate us to a pompey. doesnt mean we can't be successful. they seem to have got their heads around being a club of that stature and have decided to back them with the vocal side of things. that old saying that size doesn't matter springs to mind and it's what you do with it. hence old trafford/scum HQ resembles a morgue more often than not and fratton park is pumping. things can change though and the end of season away support was pretty awesome imo. if that can be carried on into next season should be good and a good few enjoyable days out had. roll on newcastle away bank holiday weekend.
  3. anyone still pissed off about that defeat at notts county a few decades ago. ffs 6 nil at halft ime?
  4. renewed my 2 this afternoon bloke on't phone reckoned around 7k shifted thus far with nsl almost full
  5. i aint concerned about lining the clubs pockets been doing it all my life, but it aint my reason to go. i will renew for the convenience and hastle at home. once bought its out of the way and it stops the missus wingin about finding the money for the match week in week out. without the cheap kid's ticket i would be out as i suspect others with kids would be.
  6. travelrepublic.co.uk is okay. i have used it last few years to go on short breaks to balearics and further afield. . compared the prices by diy'ing it through the airline sites and found there to be not much difference.
  7. sorry but the 'in crossmaglen' bit was what i was referring to, which is from the 'fighting men of crossmaglen' a popular ira song. i know all about crossmaglen i have done a couple of tours there in 80's and was last there early 90's, its down on the border in south armagh.
  8. rant time............... If and its a big if, you really see the need to make reference to an IRA song about killing British squaddies, at least spell the title right. one n in nugget one n in crossmaglen, easy eh?. back to football.................. well done to celtic you can only win the league you are in. however the game up there is sh1te and interests me little. i didn't even know until today that they had won it.
  9. he didnt look like he gave a flying feck when he came on, took the penalty, when they were all around avram grant at the end or when he got his medal. that's him though he never looks like he gives a feck.
  10. they will not last very long until they are kicked off ebay. sunday is the best day to avoid the ebay police for long enough to be sold.
  11. it was called communicationsand security group uk when i was there, think it's an office training place now. there's a lad i see at the wanderers who was there same time as me and we both have a good laugh talking about times in lobo. used to go to a pub called casablancas and a club called sammys. probably all gone now.
  12. spent a year or so at woodhouse eaves in the mid 80's doing my trade training when i was a squaddie so have enjoyed the delights of luffbro ........have probably thrown up in the same spot. as one memory is revived so is the one of needing something at the bridge once more. scuse the pun but cross that bridge after next saturday's results it could possibly be the most relaxed away game ever with us sat nice and bonny.
  13. stand corrected from yesterday's blx i spouted, the bloke at the ticket office giving me duff info. i am on the coach number 3 with the lad and in the upper tier in the shed. not been to the bridge for 20 year or so so looking forward well chuffed we have the 3k will be a proper atmosphere. come on you white men!
  14. i heard that this might happen yesterday afternoon at the ticket office.. the bloke also said that we had taken the 1500 allocation and won't be getting any more. up to last night we had sold 300.
  15. is it still streaking with your boxers on?
  16. puts things into perspective. reebok aint as bad as some make out. boro were worse for noise and worse for cold. it was fecking freezing up there. it were that cold even the streaker kept his pants on.
  17. my email from sepp blatter himself that confirmed my two tickets stated they would be ''dispatched by express courier''.
  18. i am still only going to boro cos we won last saturday.
  19. i will be going to boro plus 2. the decision to go was purely based on yesterday's result.
  20. just watched his comments on motd sounded like a typical southern shandy drinking boss who's just been beaten at the reebok. southern jessies the lot of them
  21. i have 2 but plan to attend. torturing myself jim bowen style ' let's have a look at what you could have won' (if only you'd fielded your best team)
  22. when we played preston at cardiff he was with his kids there and they had darby on the back of their bolton shirts. i had a photo with him on wembley way before the liverpool game when i think he was at west brom. he is a bolton fan and was a ballboy at burnden if i remember right. i knew him at school and remember john mcgovern turning up on the day that he signed him for the wanderers. mcgovern wore this chocolate brown suit with massive lapels and even then everyone was laughing, so it must have been bad. i think it maybe got handed down to samy lee when he got the job. it may even fit billy davies.
  23. i saw julian darby in pizza hut.................................3 years ago and he's at derby last time i heard
