  1. Or consider the number of molecules of water in 18ml of it.
  2. Turkey. Petits pois, and not mushy peas. Pigs in blankets, maybe sausage meat, carrots/turnips/swede, cavolo nero, cabbage, sprouts, maybe yorkies (for the lad), roast potatoes (mirandas). Maybe streaky for basting the bird. Gravy, very much made with juices from it.
  3. Very much my line all the way through when folk loved to make make comparisons with other places.
  4. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gctfdznqr#?date=2021-12-07 Strong wind, and heavy rain for the game, with predicted gusts approaching 50mph. Not going to be pretty.
  5. We may not have Amaechi for much longer. Perfectly possible someone comes in with a decent offer for Dapo. If he shows up well enough, he will get a game. Depends how he sees things I suppose, but if Vale do go up and he remained there, then he's in the same boat- part timer in league one, but with a smaller club.
  6. Bloke in norn irn for the bbc this morning. He'd lost a glove courtesy of Barra, and said it was heading out into the Irish Sea. Was quite funny- it might land in the stands later.
  7. All in fun, however this perhaps not quite in the spirit! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/news/2334912/christmas-jumper-featuring-jimmy-savile-dressed-as-santa-and-fellow-disgraced-paedos-rolf-harris-and-max-clifford-as-elves-sparks-outrage/amp/
  8. Don't think so. Possible, but England hasn't had the same depth of restrictions as Wales and Scotland for some time. As Christmas approaches, folk will be in work less anyway, so may not be necessary. Apparently, respiratory virus infections slow a bit over the Christmas period because of holidays. A surprising little fact brought by some professor or other the other day.
  9. Having thought about it some more: it's a no brainer to bring him back. Have a look, and a place on the bench initially. If he succeeds, and its felt he's worth upgrading his offer the great, don't need to go looking elsewhere. If he doesn't succeed, or indeed sulks or makes it clear he's not staying, then find we again know where we stand. Nothing lost.
  10. I quite like windy weather: within reason obviously. Refreshing, exhilarating and atmospheric. Dogs seem to like it too.
  11. It seems to need repeating. SA have a much younger age profile than here, which means that whilst information from there is very relevant and useful, information needed to be gathered from here. From my observations; I'd have thought there would be many more cases here by now, so maybe measures are working in that the spread is being slowed whilst investigations are carried out. Alternatively (or additionally) it may not be as "spready" as feared. Whatever the case, we are very much still open and coping well.
  12. If that turns out to be a 'definite', then we'll see rate of vaccination in kids shoot up. Jcvi may even change its stance.
  13. That's from ages ago, he's spread his wings now and strutting his stuff in Scottish night clubs. He'll have his own show on Disney soon enough, "smashed with Gove", where contestants have to out drink him.
  14. That was in one of his previous episodes. Iirc, there were picture of such a collision elsewhere. But more than global warming going on there.
  15. Cover their arses is a reasonable description. What we've been saying, a reasonable approach to keep a sense of caution, against a backdrop of being "open".
  16. I'll go for yes. Like home alone, it's set during Christmas time, so even if not directly about Christmas, it will do.
  17. Quite good to get some prem teams out early though.
  18. And again. For what purpose- to deliberately weaken the economy?
  19. T'other half was in Fleetwood for work on Friday, and said she'd never seen the tide so high. Maybe that won't be an issue tomorrow, but if it is, then...
  20. Played in brass bands for some while (though not for a while now) and 'music' was one of my favourite pieces to play. A really good arrangement and a good sound.
