The fact is that the more successful we have become as a team the further into debt we sink. "Living the dream". As we have all said many times we are just lucky that our debt is to a fan, a bit like the Jack Walker scenario. There is no doubt that having tipped in another 17 mil cash last year Eddie has decided to call the whole thing to a halt. Hence the lower quality signings, lower wages and probably a lower league next season. If we survive (relegation)this season we will be in 'decent' shape. If we go down it will be a struggle but with about half the wage bill gone we will live to fight another day. We aren't Pompey ...

I know he is not getting much luck or much right at the mo but Arsene Wenger claimed long ago that the day of the towering muscled centre back is long over. In his opinion the game is much more played on the floor now and at pace so height and strength is less important than speed, position and ability on the ball. He has a point at CL and international level, maybe in the prem it is still 50/50 (long ball v on the floor). In any case my view is that having just got things right at LB I would not want to replace Ricketts and we have had other CBs playing at full back (and a midfielder) at various stages this season and it has not been a success once. Round pegs in round holes wherever pos for me.

Its bollocks quoting what they have done to us in the past and we never get decisions at this ground etc etc etc its all about on the day. a lot of sport at the top level is played out in the minds of the players. a team of highly skilled, highly paid but seriously unmotivated players will always struggle against a team of moderatly paid, skilled but massively motivated players. The only question is if OC can get Bolton up for it, not what's happened for 49 out of the past 50 years ...

For some reason I just don't like this AVB character. I'm not sure that he has been brought in as a henchman but he is defo looking to completely transform the squad and playing style. When Mourinho was at Chelsea even though he was succesful Abromovich wanted the team to play with more flair and that is what he thinks he's getting with this mon. I was amazed to hear that last weekend was only his 100th game as a manager. I think he will get the time to see through his 'project' but his credentials for getting the job in the first place are open to question.

I think my point is clear enough. You might not agree, that's fine with me.

That's ok cos you weren't invited ... (knew I wouldnt be quick enough with the edit for some) iPad predictive text or hot dog fingers, even I'm not sure ...

I know, I saw the draw. It makes no difference to the point I was making.

Might not be that bad for us. Spurs may think they have bigger fish to fry.. They didn't look too up for it today ...

He seems to pop up everywhere that Gabrielle Clarke, proper nuisance. He reminds me of Alan Partridge following the players in the shower ...

I'm not sure if it smashes on him cos it looks as though Chisora picked it up at the end. Defo threw it towards him though. Also, I hadnt seen him swinging that tripod thing earlier, maybe that's where Booth 'copped an unfortunate one' I agree that Haye looks and even bigger cunt after this, more for his mouth than anything. With Chisora, well he could end up paying the WBC for this fight. The boy is certainly a loose cannon.

He definitely gave a good account of himself in the ring, better than i thought he would, tho Vitali was blowing out if his arse at one stage. Tidy little brawl in the post fight conference between Chisora and Haye, nicely setting up a pos domestic scrap. Adam Booth got a bottle on his head for his trouble. Will try to send a link but you will get it on YouTube.

20 million in 2008 after the crash, you can hardly comprehend it can you ... But, these guys aren't daft. They saved money and are almost literally building roads and hotels on the route back thus keeping their workforce employed and building an infrastructure that depends less less and exports to us (the West).

I don't get the lack of motivation. It seems to me that people are more impressed with getting something for nowt rather than taking advantage of the privilege (absolute privilege) of being born in the UK. Literally with motivation, graft and a bit of luck even today you can make your own future here .. I have girls working in my team in China who have to aquire Masters level degrees to even stay in the big cities and assure themselves that they can educate their one child at a reasonable level. Most send their single offspring back to the paddy fields with the grandparents and they see them every couple of months or so. I know its about personal responsibility but it is also about showing these ungrateful fuckers how different their lives could be.

I honestly don't get it. I have friends and family members (not immediate) who don't work and think they are 'beating the system' but when you look at it, their lives are shit. It seems there are enough jobs there for everyone and I can't help thinking it is just weird that we import labour (accepting that money then goes back out of the UK) and in the meantime pay benefits to folk who are capable of carrying out the same roles. Ultimately though, I look at these lazy twats who aren't bothered about work and think what are you doing? Earn a bit of coin, have a meal in a nice restaurant, travel, buy some nice clothes, treat your kids, you lazy bastards ...

Daz defo received a fair few pennies from the Paddock in his time. I seem to recall that he was pitch side of the terrace for some reason on a regular basis (prior to Lofty the Lion - actually, has anyone ever seen the two together?). Always gave us a thumbs up to show his appreciation.

Stringe Things You Thought When You Were A Child
Globetrotter replied to little whitt's topic in Behind The Stands
I knocked around with a lad when I was a kid who apparently only had one testicle. His stepdad encouraged him to swallow a marble to get the second one .... -

I remember my dad looking very different when he went to work on a Mon morning to how he looked on a Sun morning. Also, he looked different on a Sat eve. He told me that he had different heads which of course I believed. I genuinely went looking through cupboards etc looking for these different heads. All very Worzel Gummage I know, but I did believe it ... I often think of this when I see him staring back at me in the mirror on a Sunday after a particularly heavy sesh .. -
Did my advanced in Oban, Scotland - in November. Now, that's fookin cold and dark. Looked at the White shark thing in South Africa but then thought why? Why would you? Diving can be expensive when starting like anything else but it's more to do with the time it takes. I was never dedicated enough to spend all weekend doing it or half of my holiday on a boat with ignorant German / French divers who you would rather wind than pass the time of day with. I can understand why others love it though. Not had my gear on for about 10 years now, I reckon my XXXL 'woolly bear' may be a tad snug now ...

Kellet quarry, Carnforth for me. Went on to dive in the Maldives and plenty of other exotic places but most of my best diving memories are in the UK. I reckon in most places you see as much snorkelling as you do with all the diving gear (marine life). That said, best ever dive was abroad - cavern diving in Mexico - Dos Ojos in Mexico. Unbelievable experience and considering I had been diving just over a year possibly the most nervous I have been about anything in my life beforehand.

Had my first ever sup of 'dirty beer' in The Painters - cup final day 1981. Double Diamond if I recall correctly. It was a popular boozer with all the old Catholic Club crowd and I used to get taken along by my old boy every now and then. My one and only experience of Achari lasted the time taken to take get seated at a table, have a look around and take a piss (in the traps, not whilst sat at the table). Couldn't believe how filthy it was as i had read rave reviews. There were 4 of us and we were the only ones in - sat night ... We were practically chased down the street by the staff begging us to go back offering all sorts ...

Im not sure there is ruling on it other than the all encompassing "disrepute" favourite. In boxing they do tend to make things up as they go along from what I see (I'm no expert either) but it's not unprecedented and Chisora ought to know better, in my view. That'll said, I still be rooting for him tomorrow.
-
I am not sure which bit you mean but: 1. Chisora's profile is not big enough, the Klits turn folk off and following the Haye debacle I am not sure many non boxing fans can get up for it (actually, many boxing fans fans can't get too excited about it). 2. He was fined for the slap which the WBC took a dim view of. 3. He is tit for losing 20% of his payday. For what? Getting an edge over Vitali (I doubt he has). Drumming up more PPV sales? (perhaps, but again I doubt it will. Might of been better trying to do that in the lead up to the fight).
-
I watched and agree he was unlucky / robbed with the verdict but the fact remains ... He also lost to Fury who I am not sure is even the best in Britain (at that level). So, it's pretty amazing to me that here he is with a punchers chance of being a world champ.
-
Even if it was on ITV I don't think there would be much interest in this. Its Incredible that a fighter who has lost his last two title fights (at domestic and euro level) can still get a shot at a world title. That little bitch slap has just cost him $50K (out of a total $250K purse). What a tit.

Time will tell how good Davies actually is. I don't agree that he is overrated (many times on this forum people have complained variously no end product, doesn't track back, always passes sideways etc). To me, he looks as though he is growing in confidence with each game and who knows how good he will be. I think it's the style of player he is that excites most (well, me anyway). As I say, time will tell whether or not he develops into the real deal.
