  1. Simple maths. Here goes. He inherits a squad of talented players including Anelka and Diouf, sells those two among others for decent money, and net spends ?8m over the deals like you say, then one would assume that the whole value of the playing talent should increase, but it hasn't IMO. There was an intrinsic value in what he had to start with, ie funding had already taken place before he arrived. In layman terms he hasn't added value
  2. Immaterial, he's spent that on players. If he had to sell top players like Anelka and not been able to re-invest, then lack of funding is correct, but he's had the money to spend.
  3. Jesus, you're the blinkered one. Anyone who even slightly criticises the way we play, any player's performance, managers tactics etc, gets lumped into the anti- Megson mob. I know a few people who aren't renewing simply because they don't enjoy what's on offer. Everyone's got to have your seemingly brainwashed opinion .
  4. I thought he'd spent ?30m or so on players.
  5. I think he certainly is the worst after considering we forked out ?5m for him. I think the players you quote we paid peanuts for except ?950k on McAnespie who was stealing a living.
  6. he's big pals with the Power Taylor, catching up with him no doubt
  7. Yes i do, he was amazed at what they can do with glass instead of stone these days
  8. Signing Barton coming true is horseshit i reckon. It won't happen but he is the class we're crying out for in midfield. Here's hoping
  9. Sorry that was last year post Lisbon.
  10. 1-0 to them after they've going down to 10 men early on.
  11. I knew 3 weeks ago that it was likely from a friend of mine involved behind the scenes, they also owe Sale Sharks ?4m. Used to work near the Pyramid so shame really.
  12. Come on Franko, i can't think of one Bolton manager down the years who comes across as so unbothered and ungrateful to be our manager.
  13. i'm too scared you'll ban me if i respond being a moderator like
  14. My comment about Mark Davies was in response to a post by Morphus77, saying forget Nolan and Cohen is the future, and i said you should judge Nolan over his long term contribution. I know what you wrote Traf , and still Nolan contributed more this season than either Davies or Cohen , fact actually .Not sure what your point is. I didn't say you were judging over longer than this season .
  15. Bolty in answer to your points:- a) I judge him slightly harsher because of his disrespect to our supporters (pathetic, this place, this club etc)and constant downsizing when he's talking about 'small Bolton ' b ) Agreed c) His debut was excellent but i was putting it in context in relation to Nolan's contribution. (over his bolton career before some numbnut slags him off for this season) Anyway back to Nolan, sorry for going off track
  16. Sorry Traf i respect your opinion but you are havin a giraffe?
  17. What's wrong with lateral thinking? You know what i mean , don't need to be pedantic and avoid the issue
  18. Like one match wonder Mark Davies. I'm sure they'll have as much influence as Nobby did. Why are a disproportionate amount of people on here stubbornly pro Megson regardless? in the real world of pubs, work, bumping into people around town i'd say 5% were happy with him yet on here it's the like a manifesto that you have to think he's great. Are some of the regulars on here sheep following others?
  19. I didn't say that. I was merely pointing out that before you denounce Allardyce you should remember the qualifications for Europe we achieved with his crap football. Apart from about 4 home games this season the standard of football on offer has been poor.
  20. Leave behind any chance of Europe as well. With you on that.
  21. I suggest that if you look at the points we've accumulated under Megson this season compared to the 28 matches he managed last year, it's a lower amount of points to games ratio. Very disappointing when you consider he's spent ?8m on a striker, had a pre-season to get his methods across to the players, and not had the mess he inherited from Sammy Lee to contend with. I don't see any improvement whatsoever , just a marginal decline .
  22. You obviously have high ambitions
  23. Those three improved their clubs to achieve promotion or pushing for Europe with limited resources. And just what in anyway can Megson be described as successful? converting a top 10 side into relegation scrappers. Now your're the brother of the ex Iraqi Information Minister.
  24. Are you on drugs? If he's a successful manager you should pack up watching football and take a one way flight to join Megsons brother in Oz.
