Pretty awful way to find out we had mutual friends. Used to see them in the White Lion a lot, pre covid and their son and mine would play together. Agreed, I was just pointing out that once awarded asylum they don't necessarily all become scroungers on the state, which I maybe misunderstood what was being suggested.

We have had people seeking asylum and it being granted for many years. Bloke on TV who had his shop looted came from Iraq seven years ago, I assume he was living somewhere and paying taxes making a contribution to society so why could the others who are awaiting a decision not do so.

Yes it would. It was only a matter of time before a "side" lost it, It just happened to be in Southport. As I mentioned before this is about deprivation, the rest is a sideshow.

It seems to be a very narrow demographic from what I have seen from watching this on the TV. Certainly didn't spot Dr. Shah or Dr. Smith chucking any bins at windows. They, as an economic group, have clearly been targeted and agitated and if the people doing so wish, they could defuse the situation for a time. But most importantly, the economic situation for these people brought on by the cost of living crisis, if you want to call it that, needs to be addressed urgently.
