Tea ..... and biscuits ....

There is a bit more information here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/30/ukip-row-many-reasons-children-removed Seems that there were a number of reasons that the children were removed - for a start it was only ever a short term emergency placement, there seems to be some danger that the birth parents could find out where they were, and the council had lost a previous case where the children were not placed in an enviroment were thier "home" langauge was spoke (strange I know, but Social Services have to abide by the court's judgement). The thing is, there was a by-election in Rotheram, so it suited UKIP to say that the only reason was memebership of thier party, as they were after a few more votes....

There was a big scandal a couple of years back about him being paid, he was the only presenter that did get paid. He might have waived it since the story broke... thing is with his £800k a year he was earning from the BBC, he probably over-looked the fee...

What an idiot .... I have no idea where he lives, but i don't know any swearing 3 year olds.... the nearest my 6 year old comes to swearing is the odd use of the word Poo. Saying that she was at a play centre the other week when some kids stuck 2 fingers up.... she now calls it "finger swearing" . The only "C" word she is aware of being banned is "Christmas" which remains banned until 1st December...

I take my daughter (aged 6) with me to the football ... so always try to sing an alternative versions chants down her ear, when they are being sung... such as "The Referre is rubbish" and "time to go ... go home" etc....

The conveners get paid by the union with the money that people pay from thie subs. However you then get staff that want to be union reps and they also attend meeting - which they do on "Council" time, therefore are paid for by the citizens of Bolton. This all seems well and good until you realise how many reps you get in a meeting. I was in Senior Mangement in the council until last year, and you would have mulitple reps at a meeting. I remember doing a Stage One sickness meeting with a staff member once, so just me and her ... and her union rep, and another rep, and someone training to be a rep and an observer... Then when you had meetings that went across staff groups, you would have to double that as you had Unison and GMB. Less than 50% of the workforce were members of the union.

This Town Is Coming Like A Ghost Town...
Boxie replied to Youri McAnespie's topic in Behind The Stands
Noticed that La Tasca had shut, when i was in town last week. Shame really, there are hardly any restaurants left in town now.... -
I've been 9 times, staying at various places. My fave place is in Arpora (it's near Baga), the Marina Dourada. I've stopped going now, as it got a bit busy, and a bit crazy. We finally packed in when hubby got knocked (not too serious) by a speedboat. They don't seem to have any licencing for the speedboats / jet-skis etc, and no roped off areas - so you get a load of pissed-up Brits / Russians, flying through the area where people are swimming. Also the taxi-drivers started to get a bit greedy, and once the Russians started coming in large numbers, that was that. Still have friends we made when we used to go a lot, who are still there, and having a great time !

might be Freddie Starr - ITV have just sucessfully challenged and overturned an injunction.

Anyone On Here Know About Champagne? Maggie, Maybe?
Boxie replied to no balls's topic in Behind The Stands
Look it up on the internet - the value should be on there. If it's a decent whack, sell it. I've got a bottle of red that someone bought my daughter on her christening - to keep & increase value rather than drink. It's up to abut £150 at the moment. -
Hard to explain, but it's not "that" sort of PD. The kind you see is clubs, is just naked ladies wandering round a pole. It more acrobatics, Circe de Solei. Video here from the World PD championships ... some of these people are just amazing

Depends how much i have to drink :-)

£45 if you are on a table - Pole Dancers and Burlesque dancer not tempt you - Am hoping, if people work for companies in Bolton, you might be able to get your organsation to take a table. It's a good cause, providing respite / support to familes affected by CHD

Hello, just wanted to put this on here ... http://www.bwct.org.uk/winter-ball/ Should be a fun night, promise not to try my hand at pole dancing! Various member of the Bolton squad etc will be there. I believe Mr Gartside will be there, should you wish to discuss tactics. Also hoping Fabrice can make it as he has been supportive this is my mates charity, set up in memory of her daughter that died last year of a Cogential Heart Defect.

It's a fantastic song, i think it was one of his last. Very powerful lyrics.

It comes right past my front door somewhere between 6.30-7,00. I'll be going out to watch it. Lots going on at my daughters school as well, there's a sleepover, then a couple of the schools are coming together for the day for games & a streetparty - I'm crossing my fingers that they get the weather..
-
I've no problem with them commenting on "grief junkies" - I am disgusted about them using that photograph... the guy is lying on the ground having CPR, with his distressed team-mates aroun him, it's pretty low to use that image in a points scoring exercise

I can't get that "Fabrice is a Wanderer" song out of my head .... argh!! I still feel very emotional about what's happened, and I'm sure that there will be tears today. It's made me think a lot about life, had that incident happened to Fabrice anywhere else, in bed, in the gym, in his house,or had we not made it to the quarter finals, he would now be dead ... but somehow it happened there, with all the right people around it. Makes you realise how fragile it all is, and maybe we should all enjoy it all a bit more, and not get hung up on the small stuff. I'll be cheering us on today, if we go 5 down ... after reading the Guardian article, those players must still be emotionally effected, and as Wanderers we need to support them today, regardless. I feel the same as the poster above, and have said it on other forums, I'm not fussed now if we go down, as long as Fabrice is ok - it's put things into perspective, which is a good thing. (secretly I am hoping for the FA cup final, and Fabrice to lift the trophy ..... )

Fair play to John Bishop for raising that money, but surely his greatest achievement is the career that he has managed to build on such little talent. He's filling the "Scousers are funny" void left by such greats as Tom o Conner, Stan Boardman and Jimmy Tarbuck... I saw Bishop on QI, he was embarassingly out of his depth...

Tears in my eyes again .... come on Fab
-
I'm not a swearer, but, thank fuck for that. Been sat her with tears in my eyes the last couple of hours. I know we come on here sometimes and give the player some stick, but, we are still a family, and it's awful when a tragedy happens.

This lot played at my mates birthday a few weeks back http://www.myspace.com/themanagersuk they are very good.... if you like a bit of swing

There was some lads in Sainsbury getting tips off the checkout lady on how to make them ..... If they drink all the booze that they bought as well, goodness knows how they will turn out. We had the lemon & sugar, and I made some banana and toffee ones this year, they were lovely ..... I have got loads of toffee sauce left though, hope it freezes. My daughter (5) has also said that she's giving up drinking for Lent ......

I am a Tesco shopper, I shop pre-match ....
-
Tell you what, should the Tesco car-park ever be full on a match day I will give my space up .... but seeing as this has NEVER happened, I don't think I'll need to....Also, the space that I use is right at the far end, near the gates - not really prime shopper spots. The fact that I can easily park there at 3:50, leads me to believe that "shortage of spaces" for shoppers isn't much of an issue...
