  1. You would have to put some kind of barrier on there, and have a token system to get people in an out. Just sticking a pay and display machine in there won't work, for all the reasons pointed out above. Police wouldn't have anything to do with it, as it's a civil matter. It will be a cold day before I start feeling sorry for Tesco in the reveue stakes....
  2. Fine with me, I always pop in and get some tea, and drinks for jnr etc.
  3. Only with adequeate signage (there are not signs threatening clamping),and, even where there is signage it's being outlwaed
  4. It's the same with any "private parking" - the only people who can actually "fine" you for parking are The Police and the Council (or those acting on there behalf), with private land - incuding, Tesco, The Arena, Middlebrook etc, there is nothing they can do.
  5. Not with a 5 year old .... she probably sit down near Armstrongs and refuse to move!! I did used to walk before I had her, and will do so again when she is a bit older (and the weather is decent!)
  6. But, you don't have to pay it. With it being a civil rather than a legal matter (though they will try to tell you that you will be prosecuted...), they have to take you through the civil courts, and prove that they have lost money by you parking in that spot. Which, of course, they won't be able to do if there are any other empty spaces. It would cost them more to pursue though the civil courts. Also, they can take action against the driver, not the owner.... and you are under no legal obligation to tell them who was driving....
  7. Not sure, my issue with that has always been the speed of getting away. Park at Tesco, leave at the whistle, fast (ish) walk to car - can be back at my house in Horwich in 15 minutes...
  8. they locked it last match - the police weren't too happy about it, as they just want to get people to and from the ground as quickly as possible. Seems odd to me, on a non-match day that end of the car park in empty anyway ....
  9. I always park at Tesco in Horwich when I go to the football .... unless it's nice weather. Junior is only 5, so it's a bit of a long walk for her. I've never had a ticket, and was quite pleased when the new "3 hour parking" signs went up a few months ago. Just been up, and someone has been round with some post-it notes, and changed the 3 hours to 1 1/2 hours. I'll still be parking there, as they have very limited options as far as recoving any money from the fine/invoice that they issue. I just thought that I would warn people, in case you get up there, and decide not to stay.
  10. Halay is lovely though I believe that the owners are looking to sell. Meal Deal at Mumbai is excellent, we tend to get take away from there. Always go for the specials "North Indian Garlic Chicken" and never let's us down. La Salsa, TBH, I quite liked it - it was nice enough, not brilliant ..but great prawns (we ordered lots) Viva Espania, again, is lovely. bit dissapointed with the meatballs though. Luciano's at The Millstone - yum yum when I went Yew Tree, has always been great, but have heard some bad reports filtering though Sokrates, not been in years, it was nice, but the portions were quite small Like Leo's.... but always roasting hot Mourning the loss of Max Max, the owners have retired, and I'm hoping someone picks it up Not too keen on Spice Valley, but I know lots of people rave about it So lucky to live within a 10 minutes stagger of the majority of these places...
  11. I got some cream from the GP that I had to put in my eyes about 5 times a day (it's a few years ago now), got better (well stopped being paibful) after about 3 days , and it was a week before I got back to normal
  12. The guy I was engaged to at the time (I was only 18 at the time), worked there as a lifeguard, he used to tell me some stories!! Anyway, I was working at a restaurant in town and one of the other waitresses got talking to me about the water place, and about this lifeguard that she had shagged in the changing rooms .... lo and behold it was said fiance!!
  13. On the train from Piccadilly to Horwich, having been at a meeting all day .... Loads of piss-up Arsenal fans.... Delightful !!!!
  14. It's not health care you are playing for, it's social care. If you are in Bolton you will have been in the "re-ablement" service, this is a free service that runs for 6 weeks, in order to try to get people to move towards independance. Once this is over, an assesment will take place, and a pakcage put in place - if you mother has savings, she will be expected to make a contribution towards this. The onfusion with Health will come as re-ablement is a multi-agency service. There isn't much you can do about it, the savings levels are something that comes via legal channels (only left Adult and Community Services 6 weeks ago and forgot the legal acts already).

Yea. the manager of Bergeracs used to make is own porn. Only ever went it because it was so cheap. I used to like Ritzy on a Tuesday, Student Night . Remember pulling a nice bloke in there once, arranging to see him the week after, and the place burning down .... boooo. Traumatically remember seeing a bloke killing himself jumping off the balcony, and trying to grab the light rig.. I was off my tits on LSD at the time. Also, those 10 past 2 cop-offs at Sizzles ....
  17. I would sooner have a ring draw round my finger in biro ....
  18. BBC4 Top of the Pops 1977 ... no need to watch anything else
  19. Keep the pieces in a box ... I've still got a pair of broken ear-rings because I wore them on the first date with my (now husband) ... :-)
  20. I used to run a pie-stall under the Burnden Terrace ... Darren was always hanging round, trying to get a free pie ....
  21. Looks like the pre-sale started on Wed .... there is a Supercity Mcfly website that talks about it. Open sale on Sat morning 9am. www.supercity.mcfly.com
  22. I went today and put some flowers down - shed a few tears, couldn't look at the pictures people had left, just too upsetting...
  23. My husband went on one a couple of years ago - gosh he was dull for the weeks after, telling me loads of stats around driving accidents etc .... soon wore off (watches his speed though now!)
  24. Having a house party, as the thought of going round Horwich fills me with dread .....
  25. I've not been able to post before today, as I've just been too upset. I shed a few tears on Sunday. and was on the verge most of yesterday. Off up to the Reebok later to sign the book of condolence. He was a nice bloke, I met him a couple of times when he was playng for us, always polite, happy to sign autographs and get his picture taken. Watched him on Football Focus on Saturday, and was remarking how gorgeous he was looking, seemed to happy and full of life. Terrible tragedy, I know it will all come out in the inquest, but all I can ask at the moment is Why??
