  1. And Soton even though we lost. Astonishing turnout.
  2. It would be an eclectic mix, with summat for everyone. MickyD gets a pop inspired highlight While Casino's is darker and takes the audience down a different route but to finish off Gonzo provides a tearjerker (not sure where he's "going back to"? Chippy near Preston? North Stand Upper? Wembley?). And who are the other WWers accompanying him.
  3. aye, can't knock them if they manage that
  4. Aye though maybe he was under fire for allowing big away numbers for a crucial game. If they're out of the reckoning for autos by then, then they might as well hand over as many as possible?
  5. This mon Great-grandad, 111, is world's oldest living man - BBC News Born August 1912, so would have been starting to look forward to his 11th birthday when we played the White Horse final. If he'd been local he could have been dragged along to try to get in! I'm sure he can still tell stories about hearing about the match the next day. All down to fish and chips it seems; there's a moral there (but he can fuck off with the mushy peas) 😃
  6. is that credit off the next ST? Or just towards some tat from the club shop?
  7. The shittest had to be Libya's during the Gaddafi times; no expense spared on the complexity and deep allegorical and historical matching of symbolism, functionality and history. A rich and intelligent nod to the renowned green vastness of the desert nation :
  8. It was only 27 years after they were champions of the whole thing!
  9. Yeh, I remember thinking it could be us in a year's time after Aldershot did us. Wasn't it Lincoln went down after Torquay's game got extra time added after a police dog bit a player! Still, after all the fuss about being the first to go out automatically, they just came straight back as I recall.
  10. Aye, didn't they beat Brentford in the playoffs about 10 years ago to get to Championship? Compare them now - one has a new ground and reasonable Prem security, looked at as a great model - other is a basket case as you say.
  11. On the third day he'll rise again
  12. Plenty of times I've ordered stuff that is free delivery but it's down as 4-5 days wait. Only for it to turn up next day anyhow.
  13. Aye, watched yesterday on iPlayer - grim as you say, but essential viewing
  14. It is - says so anyhow on the schedule on the BWFC site
  15. yeh, he should be booked for missing that. Where's Danno when you need him
  16. Love it😃 I could see him taking the parcel out, putting it back, taking it out, putting it back, taking it out, putting it back - then clodding it over the fence.
  17. Aye, though I raised the whole idea earlier, it didn't occur to me that they'd have to do it in advance of even knowing Cov had made the playoff final. But they'd have to really, as you say.
  18. Nice run in fixtures for Lincoln as well. They do play Pompey at home last game of the season but the latter could be champions by then. Toughest is the next game, home to Orient - who need to win to keep an outside chance. O's must be kicking themselves at having a poor start to the season, which I didn't expect given they'd have momentum from a cracking promotion last year. Thought it would be the other way round - start well but fade in the 2nd half of the season. As an aside, just looking at tables and Coventry are still well placed to sneak into the playoffs. Plus given the inconsistency of the opposition, a middling chance of beating the Filth in the FA semi. So three Wembleys in just over a month. Plus the playoff final would have to change dates as it's the day after the Cup.
  19. Security services contact group X they have a hold over; group X are told to contact religious leaders in group Y who are known to be happy to disregard any moral qualms for a BIG bag of cash and so they contact willing idiots Z. Tell Z that's it's God's will etc and that they'll have an escape plan anyhow. Willing idiots get to the destination surprisingly unmolested (though covertly monitored to within an inch of their lives). Do the deed and then are promptly captured and drive south only to be "captured" near Ukraine. They can't tell anyone the truth as nobody will ever see them apart from a quick video of them sprawled on the ground with guns pointed at their knackers. Y get their big bag of cash and a warning to keep quiet of they'll be fingered for it and wiped out. Y are happy anyhow as they buy bigger apartment complexes somewhere sunny, stocked with whisky and whores. X are told they did good and debts are wiped - for the time being. That kind of thing.
  20. Just to say I don't believe McBain's numbers even though I posted them, as I'm fucked if we could have squeezed in an extra 7/8k at games like Liverpool in that very season.
  21. Posted this from a 1978 programme a while back
