  1. Oldham - first League Cup Final in the modern era Blackburn - first ( and second ) trophy in the modern era Wigan - first FA Cup final in the modern era, probably
  2. He wouldn't have given up the Burnley job without being guaranteed a big pay off if Bolton sacked him.The expensive mistake is with those who thought he was good enough to be given the contract not him accepting it.
  3. But they are. They are 90 minutes against crap opposition from an FA Cup Final. We haven't been there since 1958.
  4. The coach has to crash or somet like that.
  5. Wigan aren't going to be relegated, not a chance
  6. I bet the old time Wiganers are laughing at Bolton. They are established in the Premier League on the verge of an FA Cup Final and Europe and we're pissing about in the middle of the league below paying ten bob for the likes of Craig Davies. These are the glory days for Bolton hating Wiganers.
  7. A turkish ref called Cuneyt took Hell to them.Fair play to the big bollocksed Turk.
  8. Better players than they have.Expecting Kavies to be dropped and predicting 3 more points.
  9. You mean for 2 years when we were 6th in the Premier League and beat Birmingham away in the FA Cup quarter final. Freedman was brought here to get us out of the 2nd Division. If we win the play offs i'll celebrate what he's done for us, not before.
  10. It surprises me how many people think Wigan will go down, not a cat in hells chance.6 of the team that outclassed Reading last week would have to get injured and Wigan don't rely on cheapo sicknotes like Holden and Mavies QPR and Reading are gone and it's either Villa or Southampton, I fancy Villa to go down as of now.
  11. Kevin Davies isn't, so let's not have others using it as an excuse for them not getting enough points to be promoted.
  12. I don't think they have to be dead, they just have to be legends. Ian Wright would be ok, he is an all time Arsenal legend. If Bergkamp is considered a legend they'd probably need to do 40 statues!! Henry was the outstanding striker from the Bergkamp days and i'd definitley put Viera above Bergkamp and Petit and maybe even Ljungberg up with him, not even thinking about the defence and goalkeeper.
  13. "When I went on loan a few years ago, the home players, including myself, took some unbelievable abuse. For the players at that time it was a relief to go and play an away game." We have won a shocking 2 away games this season, so obviously not applicable here in terms of our heroes getting results.
  14. A good player but not worthy of a statue at a great club like Arsenal, makes Arsenal look a bit small time for me.
  15. The envious Man Utd, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool fans are welcome to pay less money and support us if they want to.Can't think why they don't.
  16. I'm pigsick.I want Eddie Davies to prove Dave Whelan wrong that investing in youth is a waste of time in this area if you aren't City or United
  17. How disappointing is that? When they thrash Tottenham it raises hopes we might have 2 or 3 coming through but it was obviously just a poor quality intake at Tottenham .I'll be amazed if there's more than 1 in Bolton's side has a career in the top two divisions.Back in the 70s when there wasn't the Sky money to attract all the foreigners a run to the quarter finals would mean you had 3 or 4 who'd have a career in football. Not now though.
  18. How often did Drogba score from 30 yards? It's two years since the declining Finn was beaten from that range at the Reebok.Bobby Moore and Nat Lofthouse tribute nights, Jussi beaten from long range.Al Habsi kept a clean sheet against mighty Spurs and Bale this season btw,
  19. Wigan beating Man Utd and Arsenal doesn't make them as easy matches as playing Stoke and West Brom.Wigan have a piss easy run in this season like Bolton did last season, but unlike Bolton have enough quality players to stay up.Wigan actually have better players than Villa and QPR, Bolton didn't, they'd sold/freed the better ones or they were injured.
  20. Our 4th goal was the clincher, there was still the doubt at 3-1 we'd go into our shells and invite them to attack us With hindsight, I think Freedman may have watched how Wigan went about outclassing Huddersfield in the FA Cup last week and decided to attack, attack, attack until 3-0 ahead as Martinez did rather than sitting back on a 1-0 lead which let Dougie down again at Derby. It will make for a brighter future if Freedman has adopted the more aggressive Wigan way.
  21. It was in the gossip thread in one of the grubby tabloids. That's gospel to some people.
  22. Well done to Eagles sister for apologising for over reacting.
  23. smithills_gent replied to a post in a topic in Terrace Talk
When the target is promotion, which is why Coyle was sacked and Dougie taken on it is only wins that are good enough.Draws are points dropped. We now need 10 wins from 13 to reach the play offs.If we don't get them the season goes down as a failure and we start again in August
  24. Not with this lot it isn't.They started working harder after the jeering against Burnley.
