  1. Reeves and Philliskirk both got moves to a higher division even though they couldnt get in our team due to Walker and McGinlay Philliskirk signed for peterboro in October 92 and scored 11 goals for them that season. Reeves joined Notts County in March 93 and scored twice that season. Bournemouth was 4-1 on New Years Day 91
  2. Bolton's oldest home is thought to be Derby on 1/9/1900. We were a bit late starting because both Sheffield clubs,Wolves,Villa and Everton were all producing them in the 1880s.
  3. Unfortunately i dont own the programme. It would be in excess of ??200 in the current market. My oldest Bolton programme is "only" a March 57 2-0 win at Man Utd...the first league match played under floodlights at Old Trafford. The programme i'd most like to buy for under ??30 is our 5-1 win at Old Trafford in January 1954....i kept dropping hints before last Christmas but got a lawnmower.
  4. We had an H Simpson who scored for us at Boro in the early 1920s
  5. Boro won 1-0 at Burnden in April 87. Asa hartford missed a penalty which would have put us in front and they scored a last minute winner. I was unimpressed with the numbers Boro brought....1,500 max i would say for a team at the top in April was not that good. The gate that day was 5,858..we got 5,300 vs Wigan the Tuesday night before. Was supposed to have been an incident at the Sweet Green against Boro that day.
  6. The League Cup semi against Swindon. and i went to Bournemouth instead of Hull.
  7. The point at halifax wasnt that bad. They had gained more home points than leaders Wolves at the time and with Rick Holden,Phil Brown and a young Wayne Allison had a bit of talent. My biggest moan about the night was that the original programme was being sold for this rearranged fixture....with the money from their cup tie with Nottm Forest surely an a4 sheet updating us on events from the Shay could have been inserted. [-X Newport away in 86/87 gets my vote for worst performance. 1-0 up against a team of kids and veterans and we got beat 2-1.It was the way we sat back after Ian Stevens put us in front that was unforgivable.
  8. Cant remember an overhead kick against Wigan. Chandler did this to a Preston defender during the 1-0 win on Easter Monday 89....right in front of the Paddock Think it was Mick Rathbone.
  9. the pie eater was Bobby campbell. Jeff Chandler broke his leg that night which ruined our game plan. we were 1-0 up at half time but the pieman scored three in the second half.
  10. I have discovered there are two ways to get the binmen to empty the wheelie bin and any extra bin bags that wont fit in the wheelie bin. 1.Tip generously at Christmas. 2.Get the lady of the house to politely ask them to take the additional bags in her dressing gown with at least the top button open.
  11. Thats true. Being 30 stone is not good....i'll not comment on the hairy armpits though :-$
  12. The Arndale bomb hampered my love life. I'd taken a fancy to the Greek girl in the Arndale bus station cafe and had started going there for pie and chips for my dinner Fooking IRA bomb closed the bus station and i never saw her again.
  13. I think it is very good that those militant Man Utd fans were defeated. Running on racecourses to upset the Irish shareholders did not prove to be a wise move.
  14. Not a bad idea that....it would have been damp underfoot round the back of Jacksons tonight.
  15. I couldnt be bothered going to the home leg against Wimbledon but did go to Selhurst Park for the return....not sure what the logic was. Wimbledon finished 6th in the old First Division when we got relegated to Division 4. That season included the amusing night when Vinny Jones scored the winner against Man Utd in the two sides first ever league meeting. They enjoyed their first match at Chelsea too...4-0...Fashanu,Fairweather,Cork and Jones.
  16. the first time i went police went on the Travel Club buses after the game looking for weapons after a home fan had got knifed..86/87. 88/89 JT missed three one on ones and they scored a 94th minute winner. That is the only time in 30 league matches they have beaten us.
  17. The 1-0 win at Man Utd in 2002/03. According to their fans we'd beaten their reserves the season before and it was going to be payback time. Only home game they lost that season.
  18. Colombia have a striker named Elson Becerra who occasionally partners Angel up front. Was playing in the UAE in 2003/04. Born 26 April 1978. If the signmaker couldnt spell.
  19. The horns and shrieking kids got on my nerves and i came home early. I was impressed with Blackburn as a town, they've got a proper old fashioned shopping centre like the old Arndale in Manchester before the IRA bombed it. Lots of police about,i can only think it was for paedos in the crowd.
  20. Newcastle are supposed to be entering the Intertoto Cup because Freddy Shepherd thinks they should be in Europe every season. If they get into the Uefa Cup they will get the attention of the TV companies. A defeat for Newcastle in the Intertoto Cup final (like they lost to Troyes a few summers ago) would be ideal. It would ruin their pre season and the TV deals would be left to ourselves and Boro.
  21. She looked pissed. But not as funny as Georgie Best on Wogan.
  22. I've only been to Ewood Park by car The walk back to Burnley train station after a cup tie in 1987 put me off that mode of transport in East Lancashire :-#
  23. I'll only have two. The pilot and co pilot of Man Utds flight to their pre season tour of the Far East
  24. I've always taken a keen interest in the Swedish womens team and am going to their match at Blackburn tomorrow.A fiver to get in as well. Question...how far is from Darwen station to the ground ie is it too far to walk.
