He was designated driver one night, foot in pot and was pretty much steaming come the end of the night. I didn’t really have an idea of how famous he was until he started getting mobbed in the boozers.
September 10, 20232 yr Asked an ex-colleague from my woundcare days. He agrees with kent. Reckons that’s after a rebuild of his nose and his jaw is misaligned and his right cheek apparently shows signs of injury. Looks basically like the car has flipped and his face has smashed/scraped into the ground at speed. Miracle he’s back doing stuff

Not read anything but some of the photos make him look ‘a bit simple’. Saying that, heard a few interviews with current set-up and they say its been amazing having him involved. Can only presume he’s actually coaching which would be tough with brain damage. From a news report 2 days ago…. “it has already been suggested that the father of four wasn't wearing a safety helmet during the incident, a source has now told them that Freddie’s telling final words before the smash were “Do I need a helmet?” Edited September 21, 20232 yr by Smiley

Could that have been filmed a few days ago? Looks like Trent Bridge that but I thought they were in India now!

Yeah me too, I feared the worst after those photos emerged so I am now wondering the press just picked out (paid for) the worst possible pictures for their editorial pieces.

Same here. I suppose that wouldn't be a surprise, perhaps he'd very recently had some more surgery just before they were taken or something but anyway its good to see
October 13, 20232 yr Big compo deal agreed apparently. £9m quoted in this article. A lot of money but sounds like he's been through a lot and has "life altering" injuries. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-67107708 Edited October 13, 20232 yr by TrickyTrotter
October 14, 20232 yr Don’t know this story but why’s he getting compensation? Doesn’t the work he does come with risks

Still find it bizarre that he wasn't wearing a helmet.

Fred Dibnah’s risk assessment was whether to take his butties up the chimney with him or not. Soft as shite these days. Edited October 16, 20232 yr by Spider

Eg, was Flintoff refusing to wear it, or took it off? Of course if he refused, then he shouldn't have been allowed to continue, but it is possible he took just drove anyway. We just don't know exactly what happened. Not heard of HSE taking any action.
August 14, 20242 yr Watched first new episode of his series earlier on, really showed how bad a do he'd been in
