The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

  • I couldn’t give a shit where he ends up

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

Someone should remind him that "... WE are the one and only Wanderers".

Oh yes, 100%

Edwards has left more than one job after discreetly negotiating with other clubs while under contract so he can't complain when he's on the other side of it

He's probably celebrating more than complaining. Sacked managers with reputations intact and loads of time left on their contracts, surely that's perfect. The alternative (contract expires, failed to get a biggish team promoted) is what they don't want on their CV.

Suggestions Trippier might cancel his transfer now, apparently angry at the sacking

Players who are in a bit of demand (relatively - Trippier probably is in demand at championship level) should be able to put in their contract that if the manager they have agreed to sign for gets sacked within a few months, they can cancel their contract. He could have signed up for a year of not playing if the new manager prefers a full back from Portugal or wherever.

I don't think he will be in this case

Would love to beat these twats at home next year too. Have had to begrudgingly let wolves go for years but here we are again😀

It’s great to get some proper rivalries and big games back on a regular basis.

The anticipation of Wolves, Blackburn, Burnley, Preston, West Ham,

As opposed to Wigan, Burton, Northampton, Bromley etc.

It’s absolutely massive!

I don’t know whether it will just be my coping mechanism, but, Blackburn aside (as I’m hoping we can genuinely match these next season), those big games against the clubs coming down, I will see as free hits.

In terms of recent experiences, expectations and resources to throw at the Championship we are oceans apart. It would be lovely to turn a couple over. But no meltdowns if we lose.

Me too and even better if we can go on to get promoted again the expectation of the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham and Brentford. 😁

dunno about anyone else but there's nothing about Blackburn, Burnley or Preston that suggests a "better" or "bigger" game than Wigan to me

there's just no rivalry there for me

though I understand west ham v Bromley as to how different it could've been

Born & dragged up in Horwich. My, rather unevenhanded rivalry was always Stretford.

Blackburn, Burnley, Preston, even Bury meant local but not overly negative.

Citeh, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport meant f'call.

Wigan came in & were immediately an important rival for me.

Always hated United. And don’t let them kid you, a lot of their older match going fans hate us too.

Wolves is proper and Blackburn is our big one next season

When I heard Rochdale had a new manager I didn't realise their previous one McNulty had gone to Stockport.

Interesting appointment.

Huddersfield gone down the untested manager route again (Martin Drury), I'll give him till January like Lee Grant.

Go up to a doghead and whisper 'McGinlay, Kelly' to him, and watch him foam at the mouth.

As it should be.

And they've forgotten about it

They'll have West Brom and Birmingham to occupy their minds next season

No reason not too.
