Anyone taken the plunge?

Theyve been onto me with an offer that seems to good to refuse. New tellybox, £50 off monthly fees, improved broadband speeds.

Assume they’re struggling to shift the stock?

Is it worth it?

Virgin has always been good for me, I've been with them for over 20 years now

Same here, we just have the business broadband for about £40 a month, very fast and pretty reliable

We have Virgin via cable.

2 boxes, all movies and all sports channels.

Super fast broadband

Phone with free calls

 

Costs £65 per month all in , no idea why so cheap, at last renewal got a crazy 18 month deal. This price applies for whole term of deal.

Id not switch from sky for my tv, but that is a belting deal

According to the bill we are currently enjoying  a £95 18 month discount. Ilkley has a similar package and is paying £170 and can not get the EFL games on the red button. 

Virgin for me to.

I've got pretty much the same deal (minus the movies) and it's £63 per month. Signed up for 18 months, last May. 

I had to fight for it though, even told them I was leaving and set the termination date, they kept calling me back the following week, each time with a better offer, until we settled on the £63

Pretty much what happened to me, they offered me the deal at £85 (I think) , then an email next day for £90. Rang them up and lad made it £65.

Think the folk on the phone only have access to certain deals on certain days so it is pot luck. 

I can’t have Virgin despite numerous promises. To run cables etc isn’t cost effective for them.

Sky were the same as I had a blockage on the signal and they’d only put the dish so high. 3rd party sorted that out though

We also now have about 8 BP badges from various visits which - whilst unearnt - are fucking ace for discounts at getting in places.

Moved into this house in 1996, on the same day Nynex cable were going live -  signed up with them and cut the BT wire as the box inside the house was in a shit place and BT wanted paying to move it Nynex got taken over by NTL then Virgin. Been with them all the way. Only had one major issue when somebody snapped the cable taking a large bush out of the garden, they were here next day replacing it. I think I had a router issue once as well and that was swapped out pretty quickly - all at no additional cost. I always get on to retentions and tell them to match the best sky deal for the price. Only on the Basic TV package as the fun police doesn't get past number 4 on the remote, and I have various fire products

Aye. Virgin for me too. All the sport, all the movies, 300+ mb broadband. All for 60 odd quid. Nobody else comes close

Anybody else just use the Firestick - just switch on and off the subscriptions when I want. I mean, we don't watch a huge amount of TV, other than an hour or so in bed of an evening, kids like watching Netflix in the main, and just keep Amazon Prime running. I think its usually £20-£30 per month depending on what we're watching at that time.

£60 seems a lot, but then I don't watch sport.

Virgin are great untill something goes wrong.

 

Our internet kept dropping and after 6 months and talking to half of India it got fixed. The problem with the off shore call centres is that they do not understand the nuances of the language. No coincidence that their retention team is based in the UK. I got about £250 refunded.

That does include, for me, 2 boxes and c500M internet as well. I do watch a lot of sport, so I think it's quite reasonable (I do also have a fully loaded stick as well)

Fair enough - I don't pay for the Internet- other half does, and Amazon Prime so if I pay more than a tenner a month for the TV I'm annoyed.

I've got TT FFTP 960mb download and upload. £40 a month, Virgin called but know they cant match the upload speed.

Also got a free Amazon Eero Pro 6 router, worth around £140, easiest set up I've had. I added two Eero 6 mesh extenders for £99 on a Prime Day deal. 

On Wifi I'm getting 900mb speeds, I've compeltely ditched ethernet cables.

I have a Plex Server which I play stuff off and share with a mate who shares his. Streaming 4k content from each others servers.

We only have Amazon Prime.

Got a now box/app but don't subscribe to anything. Very occasionally buy a day pass for sport.

Don't bother much with normal telly neither; mostly stream series, as the rest is largely cack.

My sister has a dodgy box thing - seems more difficult to actually watch want you want!

Have Virgin, by far the quickest in our area, and had no issues

Only problem seems to be the firestick regularly loses connection to the WiFi but that seems to be a firestick issue as nothing else does

This Virgin has done the rounds and passed about a bit😂
