ReeBok Atmosphere

Its been discussed quite a bit from what Ive read on other threads. The new ground has never had the same atmosphere as Burnden with half the crowd, and midweek dark nights were always better IIRC . Intimidating to fuck, old fashioned ground with 40% nutters .(I remember getting bollocked of some old boy for not singing loud enough at a reserve game) .

There were so many games at Burnden where the roof nearly came off but what has been the best match atmosphere at the ReeBok ?

I can only think of two ...

Home to Atletico Madrid

and home to Newcastle in a 4-1 defeat with Bo hansen in nets .

Any others ?

‘The Wanderer’ is fucking embarrassing.

I’m not a massive fan of the song, but i’d rather have ‘Tubthumping’ at least it’s got a bit of a pumped up chorus.

Or  even ‘No more heroes’ by The Stranglers, maybe “You only get what you give” New Radicals.

Anything but ‘The Wanderer’

Pure Morning by Placebo is pumped up and kind of menacing and sinister, maybe what we need.

Bring this back.

lead singer a massive Burnley fan; political allegiances aside, that should be a no- and its shite

always fancied White Riot by The Clash, but again probably too political. Chorus alone would be ok

My brain is convinced every single home game we played in that era was in glorious sunshine.

Its all irrelevant anyway due to our crap PA system.

First time i ever went to old Trafford well over 40 years ago , the first thing that struck me was how good their sound system was, maybe coz ours was what they were throwing out at the Bolton Palais in 1949.

Shout it from the rooftops...

BOLTON ARE READY TO GO!

Sunderland already have that, don’t they?

The re-worded version of The Wanderer is one of our better songs IMO

This was fucking excruciating a couple of years ago. Still can't believe they played it before kick-off for at least a couple of months. Proper embarrassing.

I like it, it was never meant as a stadium anthem and the lad probably wrote it in 10 mins.

Good effort.

I absolutely love we have brought this back. Fucking brilliant memories from the Big Sam era. Love it.

And yes, bring back the 633 Squadron

Didn't notice it had gone.

Bring this banger back. The cd single is probably still at my parents.

Now we’re talking. The Embankment in Benidorm gave us free reign of YouTube before the Port Vale game last season and it was the first thing we put on 😁

There was a vote a few weeks ago and this came out with a massive majority, so it's not wandering off any time soon

Wherever I may roam by Metallica has the word Wanderer in it . Unfortunately also has the word rover in it.

I might be wrong, but when Phil Brown took over for that short spell of six games, think he had the New Radicals song put in as a pre-match, maybe not the walk-out but just before.

There aren't loads of good and suitable tunes and not easy to avoid using ones other clubs use. One such I did like was Sunderland's use of U2's Elevation

Bit of Primal Scream's Rocks might get the WSL knitting brigade to put their needles down for a minute
