The Glastonbury Thread

Looks wank

There's a handful of acts I'll try to catch but for me it's not a patch on last year

Haven't even heard of the Sunday night headliner, SZA

Or the act before them, Burna Boy

I always find someone I like I've never heard of.

Last year it was Soft Play and Heilung. These are winning so far this time round! 👍

It's all just ace really innit? Even if you don't like the band/performer, it's almost always proper heart warming. And you're always only a click away from a different stage. Glasto coverage alone is worth the licence fee for me.

(Disclaimer: I might be on ecstasy)

Agree.

I really want to go one year, it's been on my list for years

Just not sure how I could cope living in a field for best part of a week, boozing every day

Went 3 or 4 times in the early 2000's. It really is fucking amazing. Would rather do Glastonbury than a fortnight in Dubai.

When it's good weather - it absolutely can't be beaten and I don't care what anyone says. But when it's raining it's the absolute pits. Worse than any other festival just because of the sheer number of people and the amount of walking you need to do!

Haha, that would cost more than the ticket and travel

Yep same. I read the other day it's a 8.5 mile radius or summut. Just the sheer scale of it fascinates me

I'll have to have a listen.

I heard this song on the Radio this week and liked it. But it sounded a bit overproduced. They're much more raw live - and for the better 👍

My Dad would have loved them!

Cub is their first album, I haven't given much else a massive listen as it sort of wasn't my favourite but yes your Dad would have been a big fan

This 1975 performance could be something

I watched their set from MSG on youtube not so long ago, and it's genuinely one of the best performances I've seen. The staging was incredible

I'm enjoying The 1975

*but shite name for a band

I never knew the front mans parents were Tim Healey & Denise Welch

I only found out when watching Celebrity Hunted.

He'll have done 20 Lambert in by the time this set is over 😭

I watched ten minutes of 1975 and they sounded a bit like INXS doing nursery rhymes.

Im watching Maribou State who are flawless and brilliant.

I hope you didn’t buy it off the guys at the car wash

That is the best description on the 1975 I've ever heard.

Not much of a name drop but I've been out a few times with his mum, and she's lovely, she very much despairs of her Matty sometimes but understands she's been very wild herself.

Outfit changes mid set?

Get to fuck

Also saxophone?

Double get to fuck

Ironically (for Alanis who has just stolen the weekend) I got into them after seeing them on John Peel two years ago and both my lads have been to Ally Pally to see them.
Will be the must see at Truck next month
