The Glastonbury Thread

Looks wank

There's a handful of acts I'll try to catch but for me it's not a patch on last year

Haven't even heard of the Sunday night headliner, SZA

Or the act before them, Burna Boy

Eh? There's fucking shed loads of great acts - the Woodsies stage on the Saturday is blinding - one after the other: High Vis, Mannequinn Pussy, Soccer Mommy, Fat Whites, Yard Act, Sleaford Mods - all one after each other, I'd be setting up camp all day there, and also....

LCD Soundsystem

PJ Harvey

Little Simz

Squeeze

The National

Squid

Nitin Sawhney

This is The Kit

Orbital

The Breeders

Baxter Dury

London Grammar

Frank Turner

Bill Bragg

Johnny Flynn

BC Camplight

Bloc Party

One of the best line-ups I've seen in years in terms of stuff I'd personally like to watch.

I beg your pardon that was the best afternoon on the woodsies stage. Went out at Soccor Mommy but looking forward to catching up with Fat Whites later

Nah there's loads of decent acts on Bob Vlyan, Brian Jonestown Massacre, as I've said the amazing TV on the Radio, Father John Misty, Black Country New Road, the fucking Osees!, English Teacher (stunning album) Japanese Breakfast, Kae Tempest, PP Arnold, Terrorvision (😁) Bragg (as always) Lambrini Girls, Du Blonde and not huge amounts of clashes. I wouldn't say it's as good as last year but TV, Osees, BCNR and English Teacher certainly make it worth it alone. Plus the Plup special guest slot.

If folk.can - go and see Du Blonde, one of my favourite surprises of last year - great little album.

It would help if we didn't like completely different types of music I suppose! 😁

None of what you have suggested are wetting my whistle. Might watch Pulp out of that lot for old times sake - but you'd probably find me in the stone circle on acid with some hippies given that selection 😉

You don't even like TV on Radio?!?

There's one glaringly obvious fact me, you and the rest of us moaning fuckers fail to see when holding these Glastonbury is shit conversations.

We are old.

There's a reason we haven't heard of half of the acts and its because we don't listen to radio 1 anymore.

Because we are old.

I'm older than you - age doesn't stop you listening to new music as far as I'm aware. Stop listening to Talk sport 😁

Goat

doechii

gary numan

Turnstile

Weezer

brian jonestown

Royel otis

theres loads more, it’s a really good lineup so long as you avoid the pyramid stage where I assume Chris Martin will be shagging that farmer who owns it for 2 brutal hours on Saturday night.

They're all Radio 4/2 bands 😁

I'm more interested in Alfred's Toupee, The Jizz Honey Collective, Spilled Stool Sample, and Stasis Parrot.

Aye - been listening to a bit of Goat over the last year - been liking this bonkers number

Also been very much enjoy this inbetween the latest KGWL releases

Just had a look at the lineup and there's loads on I'd want to see....if I hadn't missed out a ticket again. Booked a trip to Ireland as soon as we failed in the resale so won't see any of it til the week after.

I'd be all over Fat Dog if I was there. Fucking awesome at Bearded Theory the other week even though their set got cut short. Getting tickets for their Halloween do in Manchester on the back of that set

There's always enough bands on at glasto that I could make a good weekend of it but in my yoof Donnington and Leeds were far better. Now even a one day festival kills me so balls chance of me doing a weekend one.

Had a look on clashfinder and Friday I’d be high tailing it back and forth across the site.

The other days I’d be happy to have a mooch.

Noticed flyers for Slipknot at Heaton Park all over the gaff here. Thought fuck me I'd even go to that.

Turns out it's a big tribute band festival :D

Not been since 2013 but looking at recent lineups they're full of stuff I wouldn't be into. Not even sure they have the lock-up tent there anymore with punk bands and that. Full of kids now too.

Festwich in Prestwich/Bury used to be free and an excellent day out. But it became too popular and started charging for tickets. Last time we went it was shit so we got some tins from the shop and went drinking in the graveyard like when we were teenage moshers.

Yeah it's a pop festival now which is rubbish.

Always was you've just got old. 😀

Can't wait, me and our lass love meeting up for a week with mates from all over the world ....always a good craic... bit harder these days with her on a mobility scooter.

It's like a lot of things - it's not just a musical festival anymore, it's a destination event - the bill is secondary to the brand.
