He knows me better than that, I hope with the 'old boy's name' comment he meant Joe Galvin, a great bloke who I ran with in the 70's and 80's, Keeley will never forget him, nobody who ever ran for Lei

  • Anyone feeling slightly emotionally unstable today probably should leave this till later, amazing stuff.

  • Perhaps mentioned, but there's a Cameroonian boxer (Cindy Ngamba) playing for the Refugee Olympic Team who resides in Bolton

LOL sorry mate ,

SatanGreavsie had it pretty much straight away . Answer is the Javelin .

Got to the point that people were throwing it almost out of the field and as it was too expensive to extend the target area within stadia they decided to alter the weight and metal of the javelin .

If the record comes close again they will do the same .

Also didnt help that one competitor threw it into the chest of a measuring judge.

Due to my obsession with athletics stats as a kid...

Uwe Hohn threw it 104.8m

Think the incident with the judge wasn't distance related though?

Absolute pure emotion from Murray, great to see

Another gold.

What a fucking run at the end from Yee.

Paced himself beautifully- reckon everyone thought he'd let the front man get away.

Malc will be mega impressed.

Ah enjoy! Forgive the amateur editing and formatting, will do better next time 😃

And another.

Another magnificently paced race, well done ladies.

that rowing finish was superb, was only in the lead for the final 4 inches, out of 2km.

You are probably right , just remember them being around the same time ish , but I may be having a senior moment.

What a bit of footage that was. 4 ladies giving the national anthem the beans, with joy on their faces.

Princess Royal handing out the medals too- a former olympian herself.
