Transfers to move the needle?

IE says we have money to spend on 2 or 3 1st 11 players.

I don't know what move the needle means. But I wonder who we have in mind. Vic for one has to be moved out ....

If Randall is an improvement on Dempsey (who we've missed massively) then get him onboard.

I know little about Randall tbh (I'm not as clued up as masi), but I'd wager that they're two very different types pf player.

Randall is more of a Maghoma type I believe. Bang average

Dempsey to me is just different to everyone.  I could name players past and present, for us or other clubs, that have a similar style to most of our players.  I really struggle with Dempsey, he brings something different, if he isn't playing we aren't getting a replacement, that I've seen.

The key to unlock the block pressure conundrum.

Pretty much a rugby league player, playing football :)

Matt Mills must have been a cracking rugby player, unerring accuracy launching it deep into touch from any distance.

His Dad would have been a midfield bastard. 💪🏻

Yes. Good player and championship clubs interested. Discipline seems to be his issue.

That's what I'm thinking / presuming / hoping

Him in the middle with GT, Morley and Matete as options behind

With Collins, McAtee and Charles being used in a top 2

Do we think Santos may be off. If so where?

If his wage is what i was told it is, and he wants to match it, can only be brum in our league

If i had to guess, he wont go

If he does, somewhere down south...QPR?

Too many mistakes in him for any championship clubs to pay money I reckon.

He'll end up at ome of the London league one clubs in summer on a free would be my guess.

Does he make that many mistakes?

Lapses in concentration yes, mistakes not that many. He’s a massive player for us and been one of our better players this season

I still hark back to the midfield 2 (2½) and lack of cover at times.

Is it coincidence that the change largely employed has seen us concede more goals?

I’m not sure about that. We’ll definitely miss him when he’s gone and I do think a lower champ club (like QPR as Casino said) would probably see him as a solid 2 year deal. If he wants longer he’ll probably need to play league one (but lower wages).

He’s in a strong position now. Even if we got an offer, he’s under no obligation to go and has so much credit in the bank with the club that they’ll respect his wishes if he prefers to see his contract out.

He’s been a rock for us for 5 years. Looked a little leggy over Xmas for sure but I think he’s probably played more consecutive games than any other player.

Off the top of my head; Charlton away pass to their player, Huddersfield at home lost his man for the opener, Mansfield away too busy trying to wrestle Gregory for their second, Exeter game just gone big mix up between him and Baxter.

Probably a lot more if I could remember anything other than the first few games of the season and last couple (the rest seems to have blended into one in my head).

He's been a very good defender for us and still is, but he is definitely prone to mistakes. Whether that's how he is or because of the formation loading all the defensive responsibility onto him is a debate.

Aye was a genuine question.

I'd like to analyse Toal or John Stones for mistakes too...

Not sure I can help with the John Stones mistakes.

QPR isn't a bad shout and they might take a punt on a free. As you say he's in a strong position now and I can't see him wanting to move now, he'll probably get a better deal on a free in the summer.

One thing that is for certain given Santos does the vast majority of our defending at all corners, crosses, set pieces, is the others are going to have to step up if he does leave.

Sounds like some where @Dimron would pitch up for the summer in his new caravan
