Glad we can get matete back in to avoid having a player who is wreckless and gives the ball away constantly…..oh wait.

Thomason is not anywhere near as shit as folk think and matete is not even close to how good folk pretend he is

All opinions, for me Matete is streets ahead for agility, tackling and ball retention. GT has other attributes that are better but for a real engine in the midfield 3 - and to best compliment Sheehan, who can be our most influential player if left to dictate play rather than graft - I’d rather have one that doesn’t constantly arrive at a player the second after the ball has been moved on and looks like he’s running in treacle.

It might be that GT comes straight back in after his ban, my main gripe though is that so far this season, he’s been a constant when every other player is rotated and he’s far from being good enough to be treated that way.

Is Dempsey definitely out for the season?

He'd be starting for me when he's fit

I believe so. He’s too injury prone that lad.

Unfortunately we have too many players made of glass as for the Sheehan and Randall debate 1 or the other for me not both in the starting 11 both weak as piss.

Before the game yesterday, I might have been inclined to agree with you. But I thought they looked good together. Sheehan had a much better game yesterday than he did Tuesday.

You might have to think about who the opposition is, but I wouldn’t be disappointed or surprised if I see them starting together again.

They didn’t look weak as piss yesterday IMO and were nothing to do with the reasons we lost. In fact they were influential in a lot of the good things we did yesterday.

Fair enough didn’t see any of the game tbh but against a strong tough tackling team in would have to be 1 of them not both.

I agree a more physical side may need a different approach.

Think SS will be sussing all this out now, looking at what players/combinations will work in different circumstances.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Morley, Sheehan and Randall start against Crawley next week.

Yeah he needs time to look at the players and formations he has a good base to work from as the defence is looking more balanced without Santos.

Yeah certain games they both could play interested to see how he sets up without GT I would give the captaincy to Toal.

Not sure who you're comparing him with!  He could be one of the worst players in the EFL, the issue is who do we have that does his job better?  Fine if we can sign a better player, not fine if we are choosing from the current squad.

I agree Randall didn't get knocked off the ball quite as much as he has previously yesterday and his workrate was good, overall I thought he played decent.  Sheehan was more involved than on Tuesday too and came as close to anyone to scoring but I suspect as you mention the opposition played into our hands a bit, like they did at our place.  If its Wrexham or Stockport its simply a different game and between them there isn't enough strength arguably.  But SS will work this out for himself, no concerns there (anything this season is a bonus given the hand he's been dealt).

I’m saying people are acting like he is better. He isn’t. He’s the same at best.

his 3 game ban came from absolute stupidity and he doesn’t drive play enough to warrant being that thick.

I agree we need better but let’s no make up that players are better than they are. Just like cogley being shite despite being in the team of the year last season

NERD ALERT👇

Teletext was 90s. You're thinking of Oracle

I thought ceefax was BBC and oracle was itv

And both were forms of Teletext

Whatever

I recall footy was 302 on ceefax

Was it 140 on oracle?

Bamboozle was ace
