  • Collins worked his balls off last night. He's a rolls royce at this level.  Lad needs building around.

Aside from his goal last week?…  he’d only been on the pitch 10 minutes 🤣

  • Solid win. Northampton were a tidy team and a lot better than I was expecting. We looked knackered for the most part (not a surprise after Saturday). Our first was brilliant, thought we’d cruise

Has Sheehan's influence been as strong at all this season, certainly compared to last?

I agree about mixing it up- not something Evatt did- but if being more direct yields better results then so be it.

Ultimately, it's how the team performs and the results, and if any given individual struggles with it, then someone else will have to come in.

Unconvincing half that and lucky to be ahead. Pointless keep knocking the ball up to Vic and AC we just lose the ball so we need to strengthen midfield. We’re nowhere near as crisp and committed in the tackle as we were at Huddersfield and if the bring on their big lads like Eaves later we might struggle at the back so we need at least another before then.

He is so used to sitting just in front of the defence and receiving the ball from the keeper or CBs, going more direct cuts that pass out, he needs to push forward more or drift to wider areas. I hope it will come as his passing range is an asset

I don't think we are lucky to be ahead, we were shaky for 5-10 minutes, but settled down again and created the much better chances. Agree the ball forwards is at time wasteful and coming straight back, but generally covered it well

Schumacher in attendance apparently

I think there’s a middle ground to be found. But that’s more on him to find it Him playing square 10 yard passes inside our own half doesn’t yield much and is a slight on his ability. Linking things another 15-20 yards up the pitch is where you would want to find him

FFs keep posession

Agreed.

Especially with Morley also being able to play from deep.

Even when those two have played together before, there has been some difficulties. Obviously in defending, but in terms of them both putting their stamp on the game simultaneously.

Fingers crossed.

I don't think Vic has done himself any favours in that regard tonight - he's in the CBs pocket, but we have no option unless we start playing through them and that means we need to be a lot quicker and more accurate with our passing.

We've got plenty scoreboard pressure though

Not enough - we need a cushion.

Some of the passing from defence has reverted to type

Jones can take credit for most of that.

Change in formation?

One of the Eaves brothers coming on for them.

Hmm

Controlling the game without possession here…

The passing is fucking appauling

Not got to grips in this half at all

With the subs Nobby has made, we've got to sort out our passing and tempo quickly otherwise they'll just pin us back and bombard us.

Second half hasnt been great. They remind me of us under evatt. Loads of the ball but doing fuck all with it.

Incredible save

Yesssirrr.

Fucking get in

Class goal from Collins excellent pass from Randall .
