Was a strange game tonight. Crowd seemed really flat and I didn't think we played particularly well. Chuffed for Darby though.

Doesn't surprise me really.

I suppose the quick equaliser didn't help.

Everyone was elated the other day, and once the endorphins have worn off, I suppose it can take a bit for them to get going again.

Couple that with a shallow sense of confidence- one great result won't entirely rebuild it- but plenty of expectation it was always a banana skin.

To emerge with a good win, against a much improved team, is fantastic, and says a fair bit about the change in character, if not quite yet as much about the quality.

If the new man can harness the character, improve confidence and add a touch more quality and consistency, then we won't go far wrong.

Not much to ask.

Julian has always been a bright lad. Not much time to prepare so keep it simple, soak it up and hit them on the break. Last three games Collins has worked hard and has been excellent. What is remarkable is the amount of good players on the sidelines. Season not over yet.

Good professional performance - take the points and forget the game. Kind of thing Evatt should have been doing.

It was noticeable how low risk JD has made us play, which is perfect when we've been on such a bad run. Remove any chance of messing up in defence by keeping it simple and getting rid of danger.

Long term you'd want a bit more control of the game but I think he's done great restoring the basics Evatt had forgotten about

Looking at the highlights; our first may have taken a very slight deflection, and theirs certainly did.

Their keeper made a couple of blinders, both to brilliant efforts on goal. The header by Collins was far better than it looks initially; a tight angle and an athletic twist in mid air to get it on target, shame it didn't go in.

Good to see GT chipping in too.

Collins is at his best cutting in from the left

A bit like Dapo was

Or the right.

Streets ahead of any of our strikers (including the recently departed one), no idea which is his strongest foot but he demonstrated skill with both tonight, seemed to use his right more for a change, usually his left.  What a talent.  Last 3 games, scored 2 from the left side, created 2 from the right.

Spot on, neither JD or the next bloke will suddenly make them better defenders than they are, but their job can be made easier and their confidence rebuilt a bit by dialing down the risk level.

Really pleased with that. Solid performance, and the possession stats mean nowt when it’s mainly sat with two centre halves with nowhere to pass to (sounds familiar) and not too dissimilar to Saturday in that sense.

Their goal was really well-worked tbf, but they needed the keeper to make two worldies to keep out Thomason first half and Collins second half.

Both of second and third goals coming about from managing to play in Collins out wide and in space

Who'd have thought it?

Same against Charlton for Randall's goal.  We played better against Charlton, we got the breaks tonight and the opposition got them last week, not always down to formations or tactics.

2 crazy OGs in our favour in 3 home games, could go a year without seeing another.

Love a ground out result like that, wasn’t pretty in parts but some of our blocks were fantastic. Can tell who nobby learnt his trade under and good luck to him. Roll on Saturday keep the games coming.

Can’t say I’m missing pound shop pep.

Ju Darbys super white army.

He's right footed

The reason we'll get the most out of him from the left is because it allows him to cut in onto his favoured foot

Yes, I was surprised how quiet it was.  Another low turnout, but clearly more than last Tuesday.  12k max.  I was expecting more of a buzz in the crowd but the flat performance and lack of 2nd half attacks didn't help.
