He's right footed

The reason we'll get the most out of him from the left is because it allows him to cut in onto his favoured foot

He's the best at using his left foot of any right footed player I can think of.  Scored some great left footed goals, and is always working it onto his left to get a shot away.  Maybe more guile and direction with his right as you say, but can hammer it with his left to equal effect.

Just back home and a good win that against what I thought was a decent team. Actually better than some of the teams we have lost to which sounds strange.

Credit to Johnston and Forrester who defended very well and Johnston throwing himself into that block late on was fantastic.

Plenty for the new manager to ponder particularly the Sheehan conundrum and how we get the best out of him. Onto Reading Saturday which I assume will be the new man's first game

So pleased for JD, what a great week and memories for him.

GJ and WF may not be great with the ball but god they love to defend. Get toal back and we have some real hard men in defence. I could do without Santos? The lad Murphy impressed me, athletic and good in the air, headed it more in 20 mins that our number 9 has done in 2 games

Vic got more involved but just got exposed as clueless going forward, no positional sense for a striker and can't head the ball. That said, we missed him when he went off because any target man occupies defenders. Hopefully we get an upgrade in the window.

Sublime touches and great goal from collins and superb pass from Randall.

Crowd was strangely quiet but so many positives to build on for the new boss. Jones needs replacing too if possible.

I enjoyed that.A workmanlike performance  against a useful team and a couple of quality finishes.A highlight was seeing Aaron Morley win a 50-50 aerial duel towards the end of the match.I think  better management down at Wycombe has toughened him up a bit

Great result, ok performance.

Be interesting to see team Saturday, for me JDC has to start at RWB.

Sheehan frustrates me, second half we needed a calming influence to hold on to ball, pick a simple pass but he went very quiet.

But we a million miles ahead of where we were last week so life is good.

JD the 100% man.

100% record for JD

Our best ever manager, according to the stats

Nothing to show for it though

Couldn't even get us in the play offs

Never had over 50% possession in a game so the wins don't actually count, shame as he seems a good bloke.

Great win that after the adrenaline fuelled chaos of Saturday. Not the best watch but was never likely to be. Felt really similar to last years game against these with us being 2-1 up and conceding loads of possession defending the same end 2nd half. Lovely third goal this time though.

Lots of people sat near me constantly having a moan at Collins work rate is doing my head in a bit. As a calm, entertaining player and regular scorer of great goals, I don't want or expect him to have to knacker himself out defensively and take away any of that impact. It's that laid back attitude that means he's ice cold in the box, like last Saturday.

Not watched it back yet but their goal was something else, they seemed to keep the ball really well in a tight space for ages, with a cracking finish at the end. Fair play.

Collins worked his balls off last night.

He's a rolls royce at this level.

Lad needs building around.

Aye.

A striker can work hard and not have many touches of the ball.

Don't necessarily want him coming back defending when he isn't the type to fly into tackles.

Leave him to make things happen at the other end of the pitch.

He’s been excellent these last couple of games. We’ve not missed Dion…so far…

I was banging the drum for Sheehan to start last night, but he, along with the other two, never really got to grips with controlling the middle of the park.

TBH it can keep playing out that way, if that’s the end result!

But just a little concern moving forwards that if we start with our 3 best central midfielders, you’d like to see them have a bit more of the ball and dictate play a bit further up.

But then again could it have been a purposeful tactic from JD and team for them to play further back and protect the defence, as we didn’t afford them many chances?

Fair play to Northampton too, as I thought it was probably more to do with them forcing us back that meant it played out the way it did.

Another game where I’m absolutely chuffed for JD and his team, they deserve a massive amount of credit 👏

Last nights highlight was ESL singing the "heeey aaron morley" song before his late free kick.......

..and super Kev hearing it wrongly and giving us a wave 😆

Could do with a favour from Nobby Saturday when they are at home to Huddersfield. Hopefully help us claw another 3 points back on them.

Collins is an artist (at least for our level) who needs artisans around him to help him do what he does best. JD seems to have quickly worked that out. Likes of Vic and Lolos are limited but, between them, they've offered that this week.

Like most on Saturday i winced at  the team selection....What nobody picked up on including me is that he picked players who want to play for the shirt and can dig deep. It is obvious that the tippy tappy way has  been discarded and Southwood has been instructed to start going long. The new manager will play whatever system he wants but i think 5 at the back has been a big negative. I think Forrester and Johnston look solid being asked to defend and not draw opposition forwards on to them. We certainly would be better with a back 4, though we currently cannot go two up top. Would like to see Murphy given a chance at left back...Forrester at right back and Johnston with Either Santos or toal in the centre with whoever plays in the centre to never take the ball from the keeper. A midfield 4 would make us stronger with Schon and Desmond out wide......Schon can defend and get forward but Desmonds defending is woeful he is a winger and a bloody good one at that.  Morley and Thomason in the centre. The front two is the main problem Collins picks himself but currently we have no one good enough to play at the side of him. That leaves one place to play in the 10 behind Collins...One place for Randall, Sheehan, Mcatee or Lolos

A good problem to have for the new manager

I think you might do a bit too much wincing pal.

Can't you just sit back, relax and enjoy a run of consecutive victories? That's what I am doing with Weihenstephaner Original Halle's and some crispy fried crickets.

Sheehan won a lot of freekicks last night relieving some pressure, later on here pushed forwards a bit more and won the ball on a couple of occasions and played dangerous balls in. It will take some time to adjust but still worth a spot for me.

Collins in both games has been great, worked really hard pressing from the front, as has been said he won't fly into tackles but you really can't fault his work rate in both games. Main thing though is he is playing with a massive smile on his face.
