Leyton Orient (H)

The first of three tough matches coming up starting with Orient.

They seem to have hit some form but hopefully lessons learnt against Shrewsbury should get us a win.

That's how you do it. Adapt to the match win the match We'd have stuck with the one formation the entire game under the willy waver

Did I mention Schuey loves a comeback win??

  • Agreed, and thank fuck it was Evatt that went and not him. The great thing about having Morley in there is that in games where they just sacrifice a player to take Sheehan out, like they did toda

The challenge for SS with them is, going forward, Schon's more effective on the left, Tutu pretty equally effective left or right. Defensively neither of them are any good if Schon on right and Tutu on left, both of them ok (though no more) on their 'normal' sides.

Both could be most effective, for me, in a 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 with full backs behind them (as Williams would have been if retained).

SS knows what he's doing though, he'll work it out

Agree with all that, well put.

Fancy us today. Not sure what to make of these. In good form but they don't scare me. Think these are quite attacking so 3 at the back probably best as we haven't got to grips with 4 yet. Id even leave tutu on the bench to bring him on fresh second half.

Not sure about that, George is a different type of midfielder than the others I agree but I’m happy to leave Schuey to decide on who starts and especially who’s captain. He knows each far better than we do though I do admit that Toal would get the armband if I was picking.i somehow suspect George will be a bit calmer under SS than he was under Evatt and be coached to tackle better and thus receive less cards. I really like George, he puts it all in and encourages others to do the same.

I like George too, I know exactly what he brings to the team and he has some qualities that others don't have.  But each player brings different qualities and Tomo isn't so far ahead of the others that he should be undroppable IMO, that's the only issue I had in that respect under IE.  He should be used when appropriate depending on the form of him, the others, who the opposition is, what type of game its likely to be etc.  If we're having an "undroppable" captain it would be Toal for me.  But equally happy for the captaincy to be decided after the team has been picked - Jones another obvious option when playing.

I've failed a late fitness test, so having to miss today....

So, BWFC 2 Leyton Orient 1

Randall & R Williams (OG).....

Matete behind McAtee then?

Glad Morley, Matete and Sheehan are starting

Flat midfield 3 with wingers pressing up to support Macatee ?

Interesting formation, and quite brave.

Only one striker at home, but more in midfield.

3-0.

Did I miss Toal being injured/suspended?

Him and Jones caught shitting in a bucket.

Looking at that line up it reminds me of the situation Evatt frequently found himself in - backing the players to play crisp high tempo footie, because we’ll get bullied if we don’t. Hopefully we’ll score first this time, no matter how it comes.

Good performance today please.

Deffo looks like a 433/451 on paper.

Backed Collins first, last, anytime

Note to self

Check the line up before backing goal scorers

Good looking line up though

Not surprised McAtee kept his place and glad GT didn't automatically get his back

And the bench looks strong for it

Neither team imposing themselves so far, although it’s very open and there’s a fair bit of hoofball.

Murphy has been sloppy and keeps wasting possession- needs a slap. But we’ve started to wake up.

Final pass missing though.

Getting a good amount of joy on the right, JDC and Schön been playing well

Keeper down for a team talk, just a farcical situation.

Quite late on that, usually between 20-25 minutes they go down.

McAtee runs like he's holding a shit in

Fuck off

Bollocks, poor since the keeper break, sloppy passing and defending

Metete and and  OTutu are liabilities when defending attempting stupid flicks and passes giving the ball away in dangerous positions. Not much spark at the moment
