February 20, 20251 yr Massive game this now following the terrible Tuesday night results for us. Hopefully they are leggy 2nd half. Be a really tough game, they are in good form currently. COYWM

February 21, 20251 yr Almost impossible to predict tomorrow’s team, formation and set-up. I’d be surprised it wasn’t 3-5-2.(or 3-4-1-2) It seems to be the way to attempt to keep us solid while having a bit of attacking intent, especially if he wants to play McAtee and Collins, which I think he will. Southwood Toal. Forrester. Johnston Schon. Morley. Sheehan. Tutu Matete Mcatee. Collins
February 21, 20251 yr Popular Post Just watched the interview and now I’m pumped for this game. Loved the final comment too “there’s been a lot of talk about Leyton orient given their form but we’ve won 4 of the last 5 so bring it on”. Really like Shuey, breath of fresh air that lad. COYW
February 21, 20251 yr My main point of interest is whether Tomo is back in as captain. That will be significant whichever way it goes. I'd prefer to see someone on the right other than Schon, I know he provided a nice assist from there last week but he's just far more comfortable on the left. Jones scored and Cogley assisted from the same position in the previous game so they are all capable on a good day, it just looks unbalanced when Schon plays there compared to either of those 2 or Tutu. Schon on the left or not at all for me.

But it’s also Tutu’s best position, so you don’t want to be moving him from there ideally. I’m a bit biased when it comes to Schon, as I love his attitude and passion. But no good on its own, he’s actually very good going forward, can put a great ball in and works hard (albeit a bit unnaturally) defensively. I think he’s been one of our best players so far this season. I’m also informed by internet searches that seem to suggest he’s a right forward as well as a left one, so while we’ve never really seen it, he must have some experience there. So I think we can cut him some slack and give him a chance to perform on the right, I’d love it to come off for him there. And there were positive signs at Shrewsbury that it can work.

Collins I'd be happy enough with that tomorrow, although I think SS is trying to evolve us into a back 4 and given we're at home he might give that a go from the start with Murphy at left back, Matete out and the rest shuffle. Unless Jones is fit in which case he might swap with one of the CBs. But won't be massively disappointed in a back 5 given he's shown he'll change it if it's not working.

February 21, 20251 yr Tutu is less of a wingback than Dapo. If we’re starting with wingbacks then he’s on the bench for me. He can come on later when we switch to a 4 with wingers and attack their tiring defence without having to worry about defending. If GT comes straight back in as captain then I want SS out 😂

Schon on the left or not at all for me. I'd forgotten about Tomo. He's a good player still, just off form, so he could do with a break. Given Collins and McAtee look best when played as 2 out and out forwards I would prefer Sheehan and Morley in centre mid with 2 wide players along them, but if we go 532 it's a toss up between Tomo and Matete for the third midfield spot. February 21, 20251 yr Do not want to see to see 5 at the back was Evatts downfall and has not improved when Schumacher has used it. It lets the opposition get behind us and allows them to get crosses into box. We need to go 4/4/2 which makes us stronger at the back, downside to this is we have no proper full backs Jones/Cogley and Murphy are about as strong full backs we have but at least they are round pegs for round holes A midfield of Morley, Sheehan central and Schon on the left and Desmond on the right gives us the correct balance. Would like to see Collins Mcatee start every game until the end of the season and try and get a partnership going for next season whichever league we are in.
February 21, 20251 yr Opinions, arseholes, etc. But I've been impressed with Matete in the further forward role and wouldn't mind keeping him there

I think one thing we’ve learnt about SS so far is, he isn’t going to be tied to one formation. So all this talk of never wanting to see 5 at the back again, is, IMO, naive.
