Leyton Orient (H)

The first of three tough matches coming up starting with Orient.

They seem to have hit some form but hopefully lessons learnt against Shrewsbury should get us a win.

That's how you do it. Adapt to the match win the match We'd have stuck with the one formation the entire game under the willy waver

Did I mention Schuey loves a comeback win??

  • Agreed, and thank fuck it was Evatt that went and not him. The great thing about having Morley in there is that in games where they just sacrifice a player to take Sheehan out, like they did toda

From a distant viewpoint Collins and macatee seem to buzz off each other on and off the pitch, massively

Second half today is their perfect set up.

Some of the jigsaw pieces are deffo falling in to place together

100% they seem to be building something. The look lost on their own but very dangerous together and seem to have an “understanding”

Horrible time wasting cockernee cnuts, they started from their first throw in around 4 minutes, got what they deserved, I hope Wellens fucks off to Blackburn now and they drop like a stone, cnuts

12 minutes added because we wasted as much time as they did once we went in front

Quite late on that, usually between 20-25 minutes they go down.

Becoming a scourge of the game the authorities need to get a strong grip of. Pantomime level use of it in our league, last home game and today.

Worked a treat for them this aft, we were on top without being overly threatening, rhythm broken, reset by them, six mins later, goal

Thoroughly happy again.

Didn't think the first half was that bad and that we actually started well. The goalie ‘injury’ and huddle seemed  to throw us off balance.

Their goal looked miles off side.

Great second half and Collins looked a menace on that wing. Great take from McAtee and the pen was a stone waller if not stupid from them.

Heard a few people saying it was a bit IE first half. Not even close. 5 wins in 6. Itching to get in and around the teams around us. Not said that for a long time.

Great win, tremendous second half performance and everyone stepping up to contribute to us holding on well in that last 20-odd minutes, including all the subs.

Could see in a lot of ways where SS and his team are starting to get their messages across, not least in the collective heart, application and determination shown to defend that lead.

One of those where we could all pick a different MoM, there were plenty of candidates.

Tough game, some knocks taken and tired legs but a standard set today, maintain it and we'll give ourselves a chance of coming out of a very testing March in a decent position

I know, but they were doing it in the first few minutes, I can understand teams doing it late on but not at the beginning

Not really imposing ourselves on the game.

Once again, lots of "footballers" but not a lot of football.

Something for SS to address in the summer.

Or at half time

Strange thing just before k.o. I thought if they win the toss they’ll change ends.. don’t know why but just had a feeling re mind games and all that..

when it actually happened I felt the worst, but needn’t have worried 😅

if I was the opposing team I would always change ends if we won the toss.

Murphy seemed to struggle a bit today which I was surprised about with going to a back 4.

Good mate of mine is a Geordie and reckon he's meant to be a good un and they have high hopes for him but I'm not seeing it with him yet

Looking at that line up it reminds me of the situation Evatt frequently found himself in - backing the players to play crisp high tempo footie, because we’ll get bullied if we don’t. Hopefully we’ll score first this time, no matter how it comes.

Good performance today please.

Come on get with the SS programme, scoring first is so last year 😆

Same.

Thought we handled it great, never really got threatened.

It seemed to fly by too.

I was impressed how many headers we won in our own box.

That really needs to be outlawed.  It had a huge bearing on the next 15 minutes culminating in them scoring, after we'd been the better team.  Its not difficult to make it a rule that you can't go over to the touchline, or that the manager can't give instructions.  Its blatant cheating, having momentum in a game is all part of it and that just stops it and allows tactical changes that wouldn't otherwise happen.

It's become a ridiculous piece of pantomime shithousing. One of my big gripes about current football is that managers and coaches seem to spend as much time finding new ways round the rules as they do finding ways to score goals

12 minutes was a joke there time wasting was added up first half ours second half was a shoe lace tie and subs

The thing is

It seems to me like both teams want it and it's almost as if it's agreed either keeper will do it

Certainly at the time for me they were the better team in terms of chances and we were the ones that needed to regroup

Simple way for refs/efl to stop it would be to order the player to go off the pitch to get treatment and just carry on with the game.

Nice bit of shit housing together on our first goal celebration

There's so much more normality, common sense and pragmatism about the place now. The nightmarish groundhog days scenarios/defeats seem to have been banished.

I'm really interested to see how we fare in these next two games v Wrexham and Birmingham and it looks increasingly hopeful that when it comes to Stockport/Blackpool/Wigan, the white flag isn't going to go up.

Well done to all concerned on that showing today. It feels like Bolton Wanderers again.

Feel coaches are quite ok with it happening. So maybe it’s hear to stay. Frustrating for the paying public though.
