I don't want to see that "inverted centre mid" role Thomason had ever again. Not sure we have the calibre of player in Division 3 to understand that, and it left the defence all over the shop.

For me you either play a back 4 or back 5 and have basic roles for players to follow.

Fair enough to try something though as the squad SS has inherited is so unbalanced. How we allowed Evatt to sign Randall (a player we definitely didn't need) a week before getting sacked is crazy.

Anyway, hopefully SS can strip it back to basics over the next 2 weeks to recover for the proper derbies.

What did Evatt and Markham see in Randall to fork out a million hes weak as piss .

I thought he was our best player first half.

Questions seem to get asked about him that never get asked about Sheehan. Unpopular opinion I know - but I think he's a step up - or will prove to be. Fitter, more mobile and gets on the ball more.

They wanted him last year, I seem to recall. He had a strop in training and was dropped, we were determined to get him at a big cost. Stuck with him now, what a waste of money.

Personally my opinion can’t play both in the same side and I get what you are saying as we all have opinions but a million allegedly ffs we have been ripped off .

Sorry, can't agree with that. Sheehan was poor but Randall was not our best player?

I think you're probably right - and the same with Collins and Mcatee.

Hopefully we will work on some squad balance in the summer.

First half I think he was. He was at the centre of pretty much everything good we did. And he was all over the pitch too. I thought it's arguably his best game for the club.

Faded a bit second half but then so did most of the team.

Correct the squad is way unbalanced not SS fault he as a tough job going forward , as for the play offs not confident at all looking at the teams that we could be up against and that’s if we make it.

Need Santos back

Said it before but he pulled Toal out of the shit so many times.

Toal has always been turned and dived in like he did today, he always had Santos mopping up his mistakes.

Toal struggled with Olaofe all afternoon, not close enough in the box early on, they should have scored, diving in miles from goal and leaving us exposed. Needs to learn how to police an attacker away from danger

I must admit I was surprised to see Morley coming off, yes it wasn't his best game but it was no-ones best game. Randall would have been my choice for being subbed.

Whilst he's not had a run, apart from one or two sub cameos he hasn't set the world alight!

Apparently did an intensive training session with Dempsey and Santos the other day, SS hinted maybe after the break

There is a game scheduled next weekend for the ones that are not to far away

Really nice walking through fans singing Bolton get battered after the game with the wife and kids.

Moments like that I wish it was 1987 and we were at Burnden.

Both not great defensively, but decent t'other way

Not sure why we played both against a decent, physically strong team, and Tomo not in there.

Ah well.

Rugby looking good.

Bit tough to listen to them giving it that 'who put the ball in the Bolton net, half the fucking team did' chant, then seeing them waltz off with the points again.

In all my 50+ years of watching us I've never seriously thought of Stockport as any sort of rival to us. Where we're at though, I suppose, take it on the chin and strive to make sure we don't hear it again. There might still be a chance to do it at Wembley

They reckon he makes a great lasagna and his sister is fit.

Not only that, they say he is up for driving every time as he doesn't drink but he insists on Boom radio and that's non negotiable!!!!

Beat me to it - they're a league 2 side sitting in and trying for counters on this showing. Obviously should be a goal and a man down at this point but Ref loves an underdog.

Well that changed 😒

Stockport very impressive without needing to be outstanding, just better than us and did what they needed to.  Nobody can complain with that result, and 6-0 over two games doesn't flatter them, we got away with 0-1 today.
