Doing the 92

I’ve probably been to around 65 of the grounds in England / Wales but as these change with new clubs promoted to Division 4 there is probably no chance that I will get to them all.

So I’ve decided to do look at doing the 92 but not over a few years but in a season. A bit of research found an article by Daniel Storey who is doing it this season and have emailed him for any tips he can give but if anyone off here has done the 92 in either a season or over few seasons then any help would be grateful.

Couple of links below to the main article and his visit to Bolton.

Would love to do it. Had a count up years ago and was on 53.

Clocked a few moving up and down the pyramid and being dragged all over as a kid.

Not as easy now for a lot.

If you're Preston fan or Prem elite you're tied down to the same teams :a

When I was in the home end at Stockport there was an arsenal fan in their who was doing it

Think globally I'm in the 60s

Great new thread for ground geeks.  Been meaning to tot up for a while…..shame so many old grounds have gone and some teams aren’t in FL anymore.  I reckon of the current 92 clubs I’ve been to 55 current grounds and 27 old grounds.  Add in non-league and teams gone bust I could add another 9 current and 3 old.  All with BWFC.

So being creative that’s 94 grounds in 49 years of watching the super whites.

(plus old/new Wembley and 5 in UEFA cup……there, just scraped over a 100 😂).

My Uncle did the 92 years ago . think he did it over 4 seasons . The logistics is the most difficult part apparantly if over a season . 2 a week is no mean feat especially with rearranged games and times etc but Im sure you already know that .

Think Ive done mid 50's in England since I started going away properly around 1989 . Havent been to a new ground in 10 years or so . Does it have to be to watch a match ? I went to a wedding at Upton Park so Im counting that one. 2 Grounds in Wales 0 in Scotland half a dozen non league and about 75% of the Euro trips.

Sadly not - missed the Preston game for some daft reason.  Family holiday I think - watched in a bar somewhere 😔.

There's quite a bit of snobbery amongst the 92 club. Some insisting old grounds don't count anymore e.g you've not done Huddersfield if you've only been to Leeds Rd. If you do it over more than a season you've got the danger of missing out or having to add another 2 clubs each year as non league sides come up. Some don't count MK Dons FFS!

Id have thought it would be the other way round . You can always catch up with new grounds but if youve never been to an old ground you never will . That should count for more in the 92 league of top trumps.

My brother has strict rules in place for us on this, thus I’ve lost and he’s gained Leicester. Whereas I’ve gained Wimbledon for which he’s lost.

Has to be watching Bolton (he’s been to Fleetwood, but not with us).

Friendlies don’t count. Starting to think the Football League Trophy shouldn’t count either. Never should a game between Bolton Wanderers Football Club and an U21 side be seen as competitive.

I’m on 68 of the 92, based on fairly strict rules eg I’ve been to boxing and NFL at Spurs’ new ground and multiple games at the old White Hart Lane - but I don’t include that in the 68.

When Everton move, I’ll drop down to 67 (although hoping to tick off Lincoln in a few weeks, so I’d have another to add).

I'm on 68, although 7 of those are now either gone (Bury) or non-league (FGR, Rochdale, Oldham, Darlington, Macclesfield & Halifax)....

I love losing grounds. West Ham, Colchester, Brentford, spurs. Fuming

Footballgroundmap.com if you wanna keep track, prob better ones now tbh but I've had it years, current standings and I had about 5 years off going to games for one reason or another...

Fair rules. Only one I disagree with is not including friendlies. My mate completed the 92 last week but we’ve been telling him for ages it doesn’t count if they’re neutral

I’m on 66 of the current 92, Bolton games only. Got some glaring omissions tbh, mostly in Premier League

No one will ever complete it just watching their own team

I agree. Back in 1994, I managed to convince my girlfriend at the time that we should take a weeks summer holiday to the Scottish Highlands.

On the way up, we stopped off at Dunfermline for our first pre-season match of the season. On the Monday night I disappeared into Inverness to watch our second game against Caley Thistle, and on the Wednesday night to Dingwall to catch our game against Ross Country.

On the Saturday morning, we left our accommodation in the Highlands, and had an overnight stay in Perth on the way home, where I saw our final game against St. Johnstone.

Those four grounds are included in my list, and are highly unlikely to be covered by any competitive match, in the future.

I've done over 100 league grounds just watching Bolton. Notable omissions from my list are are Newcastle and Norwich. In my reckoning up I only count the clubs and not the grounds. I went to Bristol Rovers the other night. That was the 3rd ground I've seen us play them on. But it's only 1 on my list. During the great plague of 2020/21 I missed out on 2 or 3 new ones

Reckon there will be a few Bolton fans who aren’t far off tbf and will be hoping for an FA Cup game at Bromley, Colchester or Harrogate. Mate is on 80 I think and I fully expect Simon Marland will be in the mid-late 80s.

add Spurs, Brentford and Everton to that list from PL

I’m on 63 of the current 92 Bolton games only not including the grounds that have gone Huddersfield, Wigan , spurs . Swansea ect . Only had one new ground in 2 seasons though orient
