Bristol Rovers (H)

Were unlucky against Brum tonight. Hit the bar twice and did a decent job, so will probably fancy their chances against us.

We just have to be a lot better than tonight’s debacle on Saturday and we’ll do ‘em.

This stage of the season I couldn't care less. 3 points. Onto Tuesday.

Not Fluke Borough :)

They're incredibly reliant upon their home form at that hellhole of a stadium.

Since beating us they've also lost 4 in a row, sit 20th in the table and have the worst away record in the league.

Absolutely no excuses.

Should be a decent crowd for this one now, esp with the cheap seats.  Mind you, we know what usually happens on days like this…..

Home table has them 12th this season on 31 points. Away, 24th on 11. Got to be winning this comfortably you'd hope.

Last night counts for nothing if we don't pick up +3 in this one.

4 of the 5 for 6th place at home this weekend.

FFS sake, have a look at yourself.

Football wasn't great, defending was, result was even better.

I'm wondering if you know the meaning of the word debacle?

I said Bristol away would be a game too far. And I said we’d win one and lose one of Wigan / Blackpool.

Which means I’m really good at guessing. Anyway, we’ll take 6 points from next 2 home games, with a comfortable win on Saturday.

After Tuesday, the doom merchants will backtrack on the required summer clear out, stop worrying about the losses incurred by FV, and wax lyrical about John McAtee.

Regardless, FV will still run at a loss, there’ll be an average sized summer shake up and McAtee will remain an enigma until he’s sold to Stockport in 12 months time.

3-0. Collins, Sheehan and Forino.

he's just getting into character ahead of his foray onto the Rovers' forum

the key to ingratiating with the opposition is to compliment them and deprecate yourself

If last night was a 'debacle', I'll take 'debacles' every day for the rest of my life please.

Pretty dull boring days all finished off with a good meal and a big massive wank.

Straight from this to see Frank Turner in Manchester so either carrying the party with a copious amounts of drink and a singalong or using it to numb the pain.

Win. All homes have to be now

A fair synopsis of our performance at Wigan.

We’re in the box seat now. Simple equation is win all our remaining games and we’ve cracked it.

It's starting to make sense why you spend so much time on other teams forums slagging us off. I suspect you're clinically depressed.

I never slag us off. I just don’t go round saying we are the greatest or the finished article. You must be delusional if you think watching us misplace easy passes, getting caught in possession, hoofing the ball away from our box straight back to the opposition, having a huge disconnect between midfield and attack and not finishing on the occasions decent service is provided is anywhere near where we need to be.

There is a difference between objective analysis and delusional make-believe that is known as realism - something you and other fantasists seem incapable of.

We have faults and weaknesses. Grow the fuck up and live with it.

PS: Shame the Wigan thread has “disappeared” so I can’t quote the erm…100% of posters who agreed with me that we were poor.

Not disappeared mate, just moved.

I’m not one of the 100% 😊

If we were poor, there’s no way we would have kept a clean sheet, kept battling and persevering to get the goal we deserved, throwing bodies on the line, creating chances which collectively meant we went on to win the game.

Don’t think anyone’s saying we’re the finished article. Of course there’s weaknesses, but a hell of a lot more positives on display that can galvanise a good run-in to the play-offs

If we were going to win a game against Wigan, that’s how it was going to be; ugly, turgid, disjointed at times, needing a scrappy late winner to take the points.

I think we have seen a bit of everything from this side under SS. We know we can put some consistent results together playing some decent football, add a bit of that resoluteness from Tuesday into the mix and we can go places.

Keep it going now, starting with Bristol Saturday.
