The concern would be the Evatt like playing around at the back, especiallly late on when you need a goal but it seems every defender has to have a touch too.

I will remain scarred by that for years.

Losing a game, 10m, 5m, 1m to go or even in added time ... & we're strolling about passing it sideways & backward with no sense of urgency.

She absolutely loved it. And unexpectedly she asked if "we're" winning?  She was fascinated with Lofty, so that cost £20 in the club shop after the game, she was completely worn out after it

Said it in another comment (albeit in a slightly different way) but I'd have been more worried as a Stockport fan than Plymouth fan given the one off games i saw. Plymouth were toothless up front, but were certainly well organised for the most part and worked hard. I don't see them going up but if they can bring in a good forward, they'll be fine at this level.

Stockport looked ragged, easy to get in behind and offered little goal threat (they scored a set piece and a ricochet - TSL didn't make a save).

Early season results can sometimes mask the reality of where a team is. I'll go Stockport and Plymouth both finish top 10 but nothing more, Bolton top 6.

And i'll delete this post at Xmas when I'm proved wrong 🙂

As an aside, on TSL, has he actually had a save to make yet?

The chairman has come out and says we will be run sustainably, which shouldn’t be an issue given transfer income last season, but there is suspicion (I don’t see it) that funds are being diverted to new 20M academy project.

As I said before the game injuries have totally messed up our defence already. Palsson should be nowhere near a back 4 at CB , Suchz and Galloway are ok but out of position and god knows how we have got a keeper with an Alice band waiting on Hazard to get fit. Problem being the four defenders injured are not showing any signs of improvement

we have made offers in excess of a million for new striker desperately needed to give threat to push teams back.

In short 15/2 for relegation is a good bet if we don’t succeed in transfer market in next three weeks or chairman drops his stance that loans offer no value as should be developing our own players. Did you notice first two subs were 18 and 17 ?

Yeah, it's that kind of thing I was thinking about

Sometimes clubs just find themselves unable to reverse the downward momentum

I still think it's more likely than not that your club turns it round, but I also think you might be quite vulnerable

There were a few boos from the away end at the end when the players were walking over to acknowledge them

So doesn't look like a happy camp

This 100%

Also I won't miss the predictable subs and the mind numbing boredom

Last Saturday was like chalk and cheese. No passing for passing sake just football what it should be like imo

Stockport will be very solid, they have signed 2 goal scorers too.

Looked ragged maybe first half but Chalinor changed it half time as he did at Bolton last year. He is a very good manager at this level. Plymouth have Tom Cleverley who is not proven.

They dominated at Wycombe too.

The reporter highlighted that several times.

Fair points - one off games i saw so judgement based on them.

I'll stand by my prediction that Stockport and Plymouth won't finish top 6 though.

Trying to play Pep ball knee deep in a lake at Plymouth was a particular highlight :D

😳

I think it's more likely Challinor has them fighting for the title than they miss out on the play-offs

They're an efficient unit

What an evening that was. Had to buy new clothes the next day as the hotel didn’t put the radiators on so I just had a pile of soggy clothes

No he hasn't.

Keepers making saves are no longer fashionable, its all about playing like Hierro from the back.

Its strange, I'm looking forward to seeing TSL making saves but don't particular want us to be exposed enough at the back for it to be necessary.

He made a couple of decent saves in the PNE friendly.

There were two shots against Stockport that it would have been nice for him to save.

But as it stands, he hasnt made a save yet.

Yep - probably should have framed my question differently 🙂

Off the bits I saw they played well at Wycombe, took their goals well, the lad Diamond on the left lived up to his name a bit, good run and smart finish.
