So, at what age do you become middle age, and then at what age do you become old age ?

Not looking for any legal definition just at what age does someone become an old cunt ?

Fingers crossed he was just smashed from an early morning session. I've been all over the world with him on work trips, and we always started with a couple of G&T's in the Business Lounge even if it was 5AM, so he's not averse to an early one.

We agreed a long time ago never to talk about politics, as we ended up having a a bit of a scrap and rolling around on the floor in a foreign country after discussing corporal punishment while we were pissed 😂

I was walking through a dementia wing with an old fashioned architect, old girl came up to him "you've got a nice face, I'd like smash it in"... I was trying not to burst out laughing.... he didn't know what to say, must be quite common with demented old people... it is on here 😜

You'll know to keep an eye on your tools... wait till an old boy goes walkabout with your makita

my other half's auntie has dementia, about 6 years in since initial diagnosis

she gets violent and sweary a lot now

and says things she never ever would've said when she was healthy

i understand how you can lose your memory and not know who anyone is, but completely changing your personality to something that was alien to them when healthy was a surprise to me - i guess it comes from fear and not knowing what's going on

my dad had parkinsons which spanned 9 years from diagnosis to death

whilst his body gradually declined, quite rapidly towards the end, his mind was always spot on, he knew who we were and that we were there and could at least grunt or make a noise to acknowldge us, whilst always trying to say something

think I'd prefer my mind over my body in terms of which one doesn't detroriate

Happy being a fat wap or a POW lookalike, but would prefer my brain to stay sharp. Well, sharpish.

And be able to rub one out at least once a day.

not a million miles from where my dad was with his parkinsons

got a photo of him on his deathbed, sat by him is my other half with my youngest who was 18 months at the time

he couldn't hold her or say anythign to her, but clear as day he's looking at her, and appreciating her whislt he still could (my daughter, not my other half)

better that than him having no idea who she was

Whichever is the best one for letting me rub one out then.

Well a little ginger dog two days a week, and mowing a bowling green twice a week and bowling three times a week (in the summer)and the match and the pub and a workmate who adopted me as her granddad keep me on my toes.

Not to mention Mrs Fogarty and her troubles.

Mind you I enjoyed every day of work for the last 12/13 years and for me retirement hasn't got much to offer.

Would have thought so - I remember Rivals as I'd just finished Uni. My Dad gave me a job at his school inputting data and i spent most of my day on there (apologies to anyone who went to George Toms and didnt get their 100% attendance certificate in the summer term of 1999)

She was nice as pie today even tried giving me £1 to treat myself.

Well my Dad just turned 80, and he's doing well, still drives down to see us, mind is sharp (apart from his love of GB News) healthy and happy.

I do wish he'd stop pretending he's about 40 though, he gets a bit more tired and is up at 5am everyday. As he says, getting old is like having the body clock of a baby - asleep at 8 and up with the lark 😄 

Mind you the lucky fucker retired at 58!

In such case I died pretty much most weekends in my 20s and 30s

I retired in April aged 62.

It was hard at first as your body and brain is set up to a routine and it took a few weeks to change that.

We’ve had 3 decent holidays this year as a treat to ourselves after both working hard for over 40 years and will be planning more next year.

I initially missed the interaction with groups of people I met and trained every day, I was a contractor for the NHS training doctors and nurses, but didn’t miss the early starts and occasional weekends.

I now get to spend more time with SWMBO and to visit places we always said we would. 
 

Happy to have retired at what some would say is an early age but I keep active both physically and mentally.

My mum clung on to working and so did my Dad.

My Mum died within in the first year of retirement and they never got to spend any proper time together. They'd sold their Static and were planning to go on holidays half the year.

Those extra few years on the graft deffo spazzed my dad's back up.

Don't leave it too late folks. No point building your pension up if you can't spend the fucker.
