Politics - Part 2

Kemi Badenoch doesn’t really need to speak in public more than once a month and she’ll do ok. In that respect, keeping her head down is proving very effective.

Sniping from the sidelines and criticising everyone clearly has merit. 🙃

This is part 2 of the Politics discussion.

Makes a mockery of the system.

Issue is, one of the main parties should run, even if to give people a channel to oppose him.

The Green Party are looking like they will

I suppose it's up for debate whether or not they're considered main

I would prefer only Count Bin Face to stand against him. Let people have a genuine protest vote. Vorderman would be stupid to stand .

Laila Cunningham on Newsnight tonight is just horrible.

Let’s accept that is true. Why would anyone who lives in the ‘arse end of the country’ vote for any of the main parties who for years have jointly forgotten about these places ?

I know Reform won’t improve things but why would people not give them a go when all the others have failed them ?

Have they though?

Clacton voted for UKIP - UKIP won

Clacton voted for Brexit - Brexit happened

Clacton voted for Farage - Farage won

From 2014 to 2017 and 2024 to 2026, they've had 6 years of UKIP/Reform and 6 years of Conservatives (many who have now join Reform).

I could understand your logic if you were talking about a Parliamentary district that had not voted Reform before but Clacton has been under UKIP/Reform control more than any other constituency in the whole of the UK

Ok, Reform has never been the government in power but what I'm trying to say is voting Reform is nothing new for them over the last 12 years, so you might think voting for them again will not change anything at all in the by-election, so now is the chance to tell Reform to cut out all the 'sleaze' that seems to be around Farage by voting for another candidate this time as a protest vote, and vote Reform when it really matters to them at the next General Election where Reform may actually form the government?

Just a thought

Don't disagree but what has Farage done for Clacton?

Much as we'd all like Count Binface to stand and win, it probably does need a serious independent to run assuming all other parties are absent.

Think @ZiggyStardust called it. Shades of Martin Bell in 1997 and his anti-sleaze campaign.

It's shades of nothing other than a shyster who thankfully has now shown everyone what a massive dick he is.

How is your mate Zack going? Tits growing everywhere?

not sure where you get the idea I have any interest in the green party from

anyway

dunno how he's getting or if any tits are growing

I would though find it highly amusing if they went for Clacton and won

Why would the people of Clacton vote for any of the main parties that have made their town ‘the arse end of the country’ ? Whatever you think of Reform you can not blame them for the way some areas of the country have fallen miles behind others. For people in those areas a protest vote is totally understandable.

He has put them on the map. Will do fuck all for them as he is a grifter only interested in himself and his billionaire backers…but… . There are communities all round the country where people have been neglected by the major parties. These are places that are supporting Farage and even Restore. You can hardly blame them if years of the main parties in charge has established them as the arse hole of the country.

Is it really that bad ? Just put ‘what is the level of poverty in Clacton into Google..

A closer look at the data reveals the scale of poverty and deprivation in the Clacton area:

  • General Deprivation: According to the English Indices of Deprivation 2025, a neighbourhood in Jaywick (just outside Clacton) is officially ranked as the most deprived neighbourhood in England for the fourth consecutive time. [1, 2]

  • Household Census Data: Census data indicates that 61.7% of all households in the wider Tendring district (which includes Clacton) are deprived in at least one dimension (such as health, education, or employment), which is the highest rate of any local authority in England and Wales. [1]

  • Employment: Economic inactivity and unemployment are significantly high in Clacton and its surrounding villages. In parts of Clacton, economic inactivity reaches around 40%, nearly double the national average. [1, 2]

In which case 'martyrdom' awaits. Hounded out by a frightened 'establishment'.

This is a 'no lose' proposition. Smart cookie.

Tories would be mad not to stand someone, I could see them sneaking the win, Restore will split the thick and the racist vote. Can see the moderate right reverting to their sensible position.

And here we go again. Some just never learn.

Keep it up. It got Brexit over the line.

Give over! 🤣 Anytime you don't like a question you just scream 'establishment attack'. I know. Soul destroying is it not?

And I thought you'd like it? You're always encouraging us to have a pop at Reform on here because you seem to be under the misapprehension that the more we slag them off - the more votes come flooding in for them! 😁 Where did I say I didn't like it? Magnify the polarisation. It's the future.

Just own the fact you were talking bollocks and then we can all move on from this regrettable episode 😁 Unlike you, I never talk bollocks tovarich 😁

If somebody like, and I find him very annoying, that Martin Lewis stood as an independent, he'd piss it I reckon
