Who's the best player you've ever witnessed?....

i dont know if this topic has been raised on here before,

but who is the best player you've actually seen live at the game? everyones seen footage of pele, maradonna and the likes, therefore its easy to name them as the best you've ever seen, but in truth the most people have actually have seen of these players is edited highlights.

as most on here, the players ive had the pleasure of seeing live are pretty much confined to bolton games, scatterd with various england games. the one player that sticks out for me is ruud gullitt,he played with complete controll and composure and stuck out from everyone else on the pitch every time i saw him.

Best player I ever did see was... Jurgen Klinsmann, ferking awesome.

DAVE SUTTON

when we played inter in a friendly a couple of years back, veron pinged 30 and 40 yard balls about like ive never seen before. nobody got anywhere near him, he totally dictated the game...

shame he couldnt do that in this country...

miami white against them jocks was awesome.

Tony Kelly

Wor Peter Beardsley, man.

okocha

at spurs

diouf

at brum

has to be peter thompson

Tony Kelly

In all seriouness I reckon Zola at Chelsea 1 season I can't remember

The best footballer I've seen and I've seen more than a few, was Tom Finney. He had wonderful control and could play in any forward position. Predominantly a right winger, he also played centre forward for England.

wasn't tommy lawton a bolton lad?

how come he slipped the net?

Aye he was. I don't know how Bolton missed him. I did read a biography of him some time ago but can't remember if it was mentioned. There were three centre forwards who all went to the same school, Castle Hill, Tommy Lawton, Bill Holden who played for Burnley and Nat Lofthouse.

I agree Captain.

George Best.

Bolton v Fulham 30th Oct 1976. 2-0 to the whites with 10 mins to go and he picks up the ball wide right waltzes around 5 bolton players and slots home.

The real Ronaldo

Rudd Gullitt

He was knocking balls the width of the pitch at Burnden when he played for Chelsea, everyone found its man, just awesome

I think it was a Tuesday night match. He was the dogs bollox.

Peter Beardsley`s debut for us at Coventry City many moons ago, worth every penny. I think we drew 2-2. Class

you normally talk sense homer but you have lost the plot if you think veron is anywhere near being a top player.

Not saying Veron is the best I've seen but he was class when he played at Parma and for Argentina at that time. Big disappointment when in England, game too fast.

Cant decide which is the best but had the fortune to go and watch Real v Barca a few years back

Luis Enrique was class scored Barcas equaliser must to the annoyance of the thousands of ultras who spend all game singing at him!

Figo, Zidane, Raul, Real Ronaldo, Salgardo, Cocu and Pujol werent bad either!!! A certain Hierro also played.

Does anyone remember Georghie Hagi played for Brescia at Burnden int Anglo Italian nonesense. Run the show for fun until they decided that they had give us a lesson in football and wanted to show us how to mix it to!

Now this may be a load of old bollox, but.............................

My Dad reckons he saw Pele training with the rest of the Brazilian side during the '66 World Cup at Bolton.

Still claims it's true to this day, reckons he was doing keepy ups and headers and everything with a real casey ball!!

Like I said, I think he was spinning me and me brother a yarn when we were little, and now he has said it so many times he believes it himself.

Anybody confirm if Brazil - or indeed Pele - did in fact train in Bolton

I ve heard that too, not off your dad of course but from other folk, who were around at the time.

biff over to you :D

they trained at bromwich st

Pele and the Brasil team did train in Bolton in 1966 on the wanderers training ground at Bromwich St, I went down watching them as did a lot more people. Houses are built on there now.

they trained at bromwich st

That's what I heard too.

There's only one man that can confirm this.
