September 14, 200619 yr Could be a cracking match. Amazed none of the Wes Stam goons have been on here larging it. Cant see them getting through the tie. Which would be a shame naturally.

September 15, 200619 yr Where is Woohoo John 11 then? Enjoy your trip to Palermo, sonny. Even Juventus and Milan struggle there.
September 15, 200619 yr After all the bigging it up on here last season - serves them right !! That was with their new "wonder signings" as well.
September 15, 200619 yr I'd be happy if Jackburn, Spurs and West Spam went out. The dingles thought they were big time in the 90's, after Jacks money bought them the title & the two London/Bangladesh clubs are the biggest set of deluded tossers since Pablo went to Goodsion Park for the first time.
September 15, 200619 yr I saw the second half of the West Ham match - it was a good game and I thought they deserved a draw, but were just lacking the final ball / finish.
September 15, 200619 yr Author Blackburn have an awful record in Europe - something like 1 win in 16. I am reading a book on Italian football at the moment and there are quotes from coaches about "the English game". Watching the first 15 mins of the West Ham game last night it looked like Palermo were the "English" team - all heavy tackles and pressing high up the pitch. Good luck to them though!

Which book are you reading? If you haven't already read it then you should get hold of a copy of A Season with Verona by Tim Parks. Excellent read.
September 15, 200619 yr Yeah, I read that one a couple of years ago. As you say it's a good read. Also handy for learning Italian phrases such as 'Vafanculo'!
September 15, 200619 yr Author Which book are you reading? If you haven't already read it then you should get hold of a copy of A Season with Verona by Tim Parks. Excellent read. Funnily enough it is A Season with Verona and it is an excellent read as you say. Also read The Miracle of Castel di Sangro a few years ago which I would recommend too. Not as interesting or well written as the Verona one, but more suspenseful.

September 15, 200619 yr I was actually on a flight from Rome yesterday with a bunch of Palermo fans. Not surprisingly I wished them well!

Hasn't your manager been telling everyone who'll listen that you have a squad to rival the big clubs, how you're going to win everything ect. Surely you should be beating such teams?
