The only effect this will have is that the club will reduce tickets for certain games as they did last season. Last seasons ST holders saved ?2 by buying a ST in advance.

The 10% discount this season is only what ST should of saved last season by committing to buying a ST in advance.

No wonder ST sales are down. People can choose their games and save money over buying a Season Ticket. In years gone by, ST holders had a big saving by buying their ST in advance. BWFC have now got rid of this saving due to their pricing policy.

Tickets WILL be reduced once again for a number of gamers this season!!

You're right, it will be a season without a sell-out, and do you know why? Because many so-called Bolton fans are moaning coonts!

Like Ani, I have a Dad and lad season ticket which works out at ?22 a game. Like Ani, I trail over from Leeds. So you miserable twots from Bromley X, Breightmet or Farnworth who 'can't' go because the Reebok is in Horwich can feck off. Satan and others travel much further than me. If fans wanted to go, they would go. Because many would rather spend the afternoon in the pub watching the game on dodgy and moaning about the lack of atmosphere, they use ticket pricing, location etc as their excuse not to go. If you don't want to go, just say so and spare us the bullshit. Bolton are one of the cheapest Prem clubs to watch by a mile, so don't use ticket prices as an excuse for being an armchair so-called supporter. You'll all find the money when we play Bayern Munich away in the UEFA, FACT!

I swear to god, we could sign Riquelme tomorrow and some on here would be moaning because they wanted Thierry Henry!

I agree with a lot of what Wiggum said.

How cheap would tickets have to be to lure a lot of the stayaways back? I keep hearing people tell me it should be ?20 for a standard ticket on a matchday, well that just isn't going to happen.

People moan about the lack of atmosphere as the reason they don't go, well if no fucker goes how can that be improved?

Its not just a bolton fan thing, its most football fans in general. I buy a ST each season and believe its decent enough value, It works out at just over ?21 a match. It gets me out with the lads, having a few beers and watching my team. Now for me sitting in the boozer is no substitute to being at the game, but thats just my opinion.

To be honest if we have 20k on or 27k it doesn't bother me that much. Its not just prices that stopping people coming to the Reebok, people are bored with football and the Bolton public aren't a football mad town. The 1st Euro game ever in Bolton's history and we could only get 19k on and tickets were cheap!!

Satan : "people who actually attend the games should be thought of as being part of the product". Very true. I'm surprised Sky haven't included something about the crowds in the new contract. It's a poor TV product with banks of empty seats visible.

Wiggum : "Satan and others travel much further than me. If fans wanted to go, they would go." Excuses are easier than going. I've been doing 425 mile round-trips for 30 years, including mid-weeks. But moving back to Bolton now, so I'd better get my excuses polished up, I guess.

Joojar : "the Bolton public aren't a football mad town." It's beginning to seem like that, though it never used to be. What the fook else have the locals got to get excited about ? The multiplexes ? The shopping ? Dodgy TV ?

Maybe I should have added that its no longer a football town. But the same is true about a lot of other towns. People fill their existance with other shite now, football is still deemed fashionable yet many of those people who loved the game down the years have lost their passion it seems.

Don't agree with that. Bolton IS a football-mad town. The only problem is that a lot of Boltonians support Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool etc. Too many other big Premier League teams in the area.

Indeed. Though I read summat recently (can't find the link at the mo) about how they are putting quite a bit of effort into real time computer fiddling of atmospheres ie a much fancier version of Citeh's louspeaker crowd noise, wherein "smart" crowd noise and digitally superimposed crowds in empty areas would be added (in much the same way we now see on pitch, real time graphics for yardages or logos etc). Now that's a scary thought...

How bad must it be if the club are giving out free uefa cup tickets with the new shirt??????

Personally i think that the club reacted too late to the falling attendances. They should have been a bit more pro-active, rather than reacting to the situation when it was too late. We are a similar-sized club to Charlton but their pricing structure over the last few seasons seemed to be more realistic than ours. In addition they have other initiatives such as providing free transport from surrounding towns to the Valley. They also offered any supporters renewing their season tickets for next season, FREE season tickets in the Premier League, if they get promoted at the first attempt! As a result they already have 17,000 season ticket holders and counting for next season. They also have a LOCAL number for their ticket office!

Dont forget, if you want to find better average gates than we've had over the last few years you've got to go back to the 50s. The fact that the ground is not full doesn't alter that. As has been pointed out many a time on here, our first year in the top flight in the late 70s had dirt cheap admission prices, central ground, no stewards, booze all over the shop...and the average was still just 23k. That's our level, it's what we are and is nowt to be ashamed of.

I saw an LA Galaxy game in Pasedena, where they played crowd noise over a half-empty stadium! They also played ads every time the play stopped! It's a matter of time before we see it in the Premier League. Ads for opticians whenever the ref gives a dodgy penalty, ads for neck-ache cures wherever Newcastle are playing, that sort of thing.

I'm with you 100% Satan. I don't feel that our crowds are a joke. We have a core of fans and an awful lot of hangers on. However for a town the size of Bolton you would think a Top 8 Prem team would get better gates. It don't give a rats arse how many are on in truth. The fact is many who are there on a match day now aren't diehards.

PS I wonder how many of the Reebok regulars can say that they have had a ST in all 4 divisions...

how many divisions

;)

isn't 6 the maximum, what with name changes

You get my point though...

Anyone hazard a guess as to how many people would have held a ST through all the divisions? Can't imagine its many at all!!

Blaming the fans for the club charging the likes of ?39 for an upper tier ticket at the Reebok? You're having a giraffe ::::::lol::::::

That stadium doesn't sell out coz it's been designed for families from Horwich & Chorley. I wince when I get near the place too often. They've got fireworks, cheerleaders and kiddies running round with America-style hot-dogs while some housewife orders you to sit down if you're on the back row.

Some of us like a drink before the game - but that isn't possible at 'our' place - f?cking fun pubs and border-jumpers serving warm p?ss for ?3 a pop doesn't exactly do it for me.

Now we're going to be playing to Wigan-esque crowds, with even less of a f?cking atmosphere than usual, after the club announce they're freezing the stupid prices that put most lads off in the first place. The local derbies will be a scream this time round - we might even have one of them sell out..............you know like they used to BEFORE the prices got f?cking stupid.

And some are blaming Bolton fans for not attending? IF IT'S SH?TE - MOST WON'T BOTHER

AS usually i think you post a lot of spot on stuff but WTF??

As for it being too dear, ?21 quid for a game with my ST this year isn't expensive. I actually think its a good deal.....But i understand ST's aren't for everyone, but the membership takes prices down further. Most people spunk their money away on shite and don't give it a second thought, yet its too dear to watch the Wanderers. I still think that if someone really wanted to go to the games they would, unless they were totally f?cking brassed which most people aren't!

That stadium, like all the new ones, was designed specifically to please the corporate tyes and familes from the nearby middle-class areas. I'm not saying the club doesn't make good money off these types, but if you ever wonder why it's soooooooo f?cking dull in there - now you know. So I'll be there, like most of you, week-in week-out & thinking 'why do I bother' when sat in that f?cking library.

As for the ST argument, well they could have significantly reduced them and sold a LOT more. Instead they were kind enough to knock ?50 off mine & they then announced that all normal matchdays tickets would stay at their ridiculous prices? Thanks a f?cking bunch - if any of the lads who pick & choose want to come, I imagine they'll sit in the pub with most others around Bolton on a Saturday.

I can't believe people on here are blaming the fans for the club pricing out their own fans over the last 2-3 years? Fair enough - there's always some who like shouting 'you're not a real fan' and standing on their soap-boxes when we get 21k & the like - but even they must realise it's the clubs fault that the place is so empty...................I'm predicting the usual 'they're a business - they have to make money to ease the debt', well they got a f?cking massive amount off the TV people, and you'd think they might worry about future Bolton crowds when we're doing sh?t & most die-hards have just given up.

Twenty years ago we were averaging just 4.847! Great link by the way.

There and again, when we went back to the old First Division in 1978, we averaged around 27,000 which was the tenth highest in the League.

At the risk of biting, not all Horwich folk are family orientated. Some of us drink dirty beer, have potty mouths and go to away matches.

Just saying like.

So what do you think a fair price would be for a season ticket and someone who picks and chooses their matches. Bearing in mind ST should be discounted to induce people into buying one?
