Complimentary Tickets?

Reet, 2 days before we flew to Munich we were offered complimentary tickets for the game, we already had tickets which we paid 25 euro's for, but the comps were on the side, behind the dugouts halfway up, in the middle of the Germans. We took the tickets and used them purely and simply because it was a better view, we couldn't give our 'bought' tickets away as there was no demand for them, no problem, we saw the match in good seats for 25 euro's.

I was told last night that the person who 'gave' us the said complimentary tickets wants ?30 off us to pay for the tickets as the club have taken ?300 out of his wages.

He is one of our first team players, the question is 'do I pay him?' or report him to the club for selling tickets, BTW, there is NO price printed on the tickets

I have still got both tickets, unmarked, don't forget you had to swipe them in that barcode machine thingy to get through that first barrier.

why would a player give you tickets anyway, is he a mate or sommit?

He is a mate of a mate, I am not at liberty to name and shame, yet, I'll see how desperate he is for ?30 off me, I've told the mate to give him my address

So he got 10 tickets from the club with a view to topping his meagre wage up. You can't really blame him. After all, it's Christmas for him too you know!

Nah, bollox. What a tight bastard. He's on as much a week or more than most of us are on a year. Shop the bastard.

I remember chatting with Thome not long after he signed fro Wiggin. He said that they get 4 tickets per home game, if he plays, they're free, if he's an unused sub, he has to pay for 2 of them, and if he doesn't play. he has to pay full whack for all 4. Obviously when he asks for the tickets (maybe 1-2 weeks before the game) he won't necessarilly know wether he'll be playing or not.

This was while Wiggin were in the first.

I take it you only have the players word for it that the money was taken from his wages. Ask to see his wage slip to verify this....don't think you will need to pay then!!!

Thing long here, think long. :good:

You currently got good seats for nowt. Now you might have to pay 30 quid for them. OK, you had another couple of tickets but in the long run you won't miss that money.

Take away whether he can afford it, its about keeping a good contact on side. One day he might be playing for England in the World Cup Final. Think long, :good:

And for 30 quid i reckon its a good investment considering you got 30 quids worth to start with. You'll have proven yourself as good for money and striaght up whereas otherwise you won't get shite off him ever again.

Question is, do you trust the fella who is actually asking for it or is he taking you for a red ginger?

Regardless, he'll probably be reading this so you're fcuked now anyway. :::::lol:::::

Words of wisdom, as ever Smiffs, it's not the money, it's the principle of it, I do trust my mate who is asking for it, I think the only way England will get to a world cup final is playing piggy or summat because this eyetie won't do it for us

Maybe not but I suspect he will be the best England manager since Bobby Robson.

I can't get my head around the fact that the club charge the players for tickets, are we that poor? its a fooking disgrace that all everyone at the club want to do is shaft the fans. The player should be ashamed of himself for asking for the money in the 1st place, tell him to fook off, he's not a contact he's just a money grabbing t**t

If you were said player and you were handing out 10 tickets to a mate - who in turn was passing these on to other mates. And you earn a fair old screw - then surely you wouldn't want the money? If I remember correctly NH didn't play in Munich due to injury(?) so if we go off the Wigan scenario, then he'll have had to pay for these himself.

So how much does he values his mates? And how much do his mates value his kind hospitality?

Turning into a tricky one.

The fact that the player in question is, according to your mate, asking for the money in the first place makes it a contact not worth having in my opinion. You'll get nowt from someone like that unless there's something in it for them.

Players at most clubs have to pay for tickets.

when that scouse players wage slip was on internet (risse ?) he was being charged for tickets.

i think the guy asking for money for the tickets is out of order, it would cost him fcuk all compared to what he earns.

the fact is that footballers do not have a clue how well off they are, if they did he would say fcuk it, and get people on side.

as it is given he is your mates mate i would give the thirty quid to your mate, he helped you out in good faith and should nt be out of pocket or have the player giving him shit.

(the other option is to pay him with a dodgy 50 euro)

could be a case of the money not changing the player and him being a tight f?cker which in a way is fine by me

still

as smiffs says

could be useful in future

rangers away for example

Maybe not but I suspect he will be the best England manager since Bobby Robson.

It's not England at a World Cup final i can't get me headround, it's the thought of Nicky Hunt playing for England that's just made me dribble!!

I think John Arne Riise was deducted for match tickets on that leaked payslip. Although I tend to agree, it seems pointless when you look at what theyre earning.
