Guest TonyCee Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 At this level clueless. Check his points total in Prem. An astonisinhing appointment. ?4M for Taylor? ?4.5M for Cahill? No striker. 2 days to go and counting. Cant beat Fulham, very luckily egdged past Derby. No other business would be run in such an ineffiecient way re letting Anelka go with no replacement in sight. Fulham, Newcastle and Blackburn were good opportunities for points. 2 points ONE GOAL. Pathetic. He shouldnt be here Megson. I bet he couldnt beleive his luck managing a Prem team. A joke appointment, everyone in football could see that except Gartside. Gartside should resign and Megson go with him. It may be too late because if we cant score against Fulham who will we beat? Where is the next win coming from? Away we are abject so its not at Reading. Lose at Reading and we have insurmountable problems and are going down.

TotalBelief2024 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Megson has done ok so far. Who were we honestly going to get as manager? He was about the best around. He got the team beliving, and made us harder to beat. That is a good start. I am annoyed that no striker is in yet, 2 days, may be in for a nice suprise. If not, squeeky bum time, then hang on until the summer when he will get his man. 5m for Cahill etc etc, what else do you expect? We are in shit, we have to pay over the odds. Would you rather he pay ?10m for one player? Or not buy anyone? Give the guy a break. We are in shit thanks to FSA and the joke buys of Little Sam. Judge Gary on what he does over the next 6 months. *********** If we play the reserves away at Madrid I will be chanting Megson out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man Utd win at home, Munich good draw away all Megsons results. Open your eyes man & get a good nights kip.

JimmyRiddle Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Judge Gary on what he does over the next 6 months. Why can't I judge him on the past 4 months in which he has done nothing but get distinctly average results. He has done no better than any manager with some PL experience would have done given the talent in our squad. I am sure Peter Reid, Eddie Gray, Terry Venables, Neil Warnock etc etc would have also managed the slight improvement the 'ginger mourinho' has managed. I can't believe people are still happy to put up with how the club treat us all with utter contempt and employing Megson is just another one to add to the list.
ChezneyHawkes Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 we got lucky, no shrek, ronaldo or vidic, believe me, we won't get that lucky again Maybe but to describe as clueless...? Can only beat what's put in front of you.
JimmyRiddle Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Can only beat what's put in front of you. That would be a start but 8 wins out of 33 competitive games this season does not make good reading.
BeeDee Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I was at the game so may have missed something, but why oh why did he take off our most creative player in Guthrie? That was an appalling decision (unless he was injured)
Casino Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I was at the game so may have missed something, but why oh why did he take off our most creative player in Guthrie? That was an appalling decision (unless he was injured) i thought guthrie achieved bollocks all and deserved subbing wasn't sure at taking taylor - our one player capable of crossing the thing - off and putting on another guy who does heading for breakfast, though
HR Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 I'll defend Megson as I think he has steadied the ship, without him we would have been in Derbys position. The Board have behaved incompetently beyond belief. I rate our chances at 50 : 50 for staying up, those were probaly 90 :10 when LSL left. The board have got a choice, either sign attacking players before the end of Jan or in my eyes our odds go back to those before Megson arrived. I also think that Taylor, Steinsson and Cahill (hopefully) are excellent signings.
Garrp Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 That's right, slag Taylor off even though he was possibly our best player. I'll be honest, I've never been a fan of him, always thought he did nothing except score the odd screamer, but f?ck me how good is his delivery? I thought Guthrie was terrible tonight, his first touch was atrocious.

Andybwfc Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 .....come midnight on the 31stJ an we won't have any new signings.... Megson is staying tight-lipped on any possible signings, although he is quietly optimistic of at least one capture. "I don't know if (landing a striker) is likely. We've spoken to one player, so he's got a decision to make," he continued. "We are also trying to bring in another player. We're going to talk about positions. It won't be for the want of trying." Bolton have agreed a fee for Aston Villa defender Gary Cahill, although Megson fears competition for his signature could mean his side miss out. "We're not the only one to have agreed a fee. I think it's an open secret that we want to sign him. Hopefully he'll sign for us." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3091271,00.html
xxxxxx Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 ..... and trying Michalik as our new striker. How many shots did he have tonight?
bolty58 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Where you on talksport before? Probably was him. Similar number to the Samaritans.
TotalBelief2024 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I think before you judge Megson, you need to consider the utter shit he inherited. A team FSA lost interest in for the last 6 months. A squad filled with Little Sam jokers
jules_darby Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Last night we played against a team that we could have virtually relegated. We should have gone at them in the opening minutes. They've not won away since 2006 or something like that FFS. The substitutions confused me last night; Joey O'Brien was arguably the best player on the pitch in the first half and was subbed; I hope he was injured. Megson then removed our players most likely to deliver a killer pass. Unbelievable. Cohen hasn't shown anything yet and Andranik has played that little first team football he's unlikely to have a direct positive effect. We may need a decent striker, but they will be irrelevant if the team cannot string enough passes together to get the ball near him. The R word is looming for me now - we really are in the mire
marple whites Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Guthrie did have one of his poorer games, however he should be in centre midfield. He is also the one player that can produce a flash of brilliance, so for that reason if he is not injured you have to leave him on. Fulham are one of the worst teams I have seen for a long time. Coupled with our lucky win against Derby and looking at the fixtures we have left - I think the R word is looming large. I am Mr Optimistic when it comes to BWFC, but I have to admit it ain't looking good.

Not a single goal or assist this season from Guthrie, unless I'm mistaken People can knock Nolan, Stelios, Taylor and the like but in reality THEY can produce moments of brilliance Guthrie doesn't However, I agree he should be an orthodox central midfielder, he has good energy, and wants to get his foot on the ball - but he shouldn't be pushed up the field
scoobydoo Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 thought we aere toothless in attack , davies on his own is no use. switch nobby to the right hand side of the three and let guthrie loose in the centre. for the first time this season i thought we looked doom BUT there are a lot of shit teams.
