BeeDee Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 The actual player of the year awards should be interesting this year then! players falling out, refusing to play, sign contracts, put in some effort, dont like the manager, dont like the chairman, and the very real potential of going from UEFA cup places one season to relegation. Might buy a ticket, could be like an episode of eastenders! (megson can be bianca!)

Could some one more informed that myself tell me who the eck recomended it and why?? surely a sense of humour sent for him?
Happy Wanderer Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 If Anelka was to win it, would be come back to collect it? <_>
victor meldrew Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 helgerson for me....goals per game ratio is better than ronaldo..(and he doesn't fall over) but i would sack the back room staff who couldn't keep him fit !!!!!!!!!!!! there should not be a player of the year do , but is a money making event for devere's, and therefore very important for burnden leisure plc
YATESY Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 there should not be a player of the year do , but is a money making event for devere's, and therefore very important for burnden leisure plc I am looking forward to hearing Gartside's speech this year. He has milked the acclaim for the past few years, what will he say this year when the heckling starts.
Exiled 2 Wigan Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I am looking forward to hearing Gartside's speech this year. He has milked the acclaim for the past few years, what will he say this year when the heckling starts. Jeff Chandler or Nicky Brookman get my vote...................tadeus Nowak comes a close 3rd
YATESY Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 Do we keep this open until the season's end, clear the votes and narrow it down now to a top 3 or award it to AOB now? Alternatively I can hold a Zimbabwe style election and declare Kevin Nolan the winner.
YATESY Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 Derby have the right idea: Fans odds-on to be Derby's player of the year It is the footballing equivalent of searching for a needle in a haystack, but Derby County have at least held up their collective hands at the lack of candidates for their Player of the Year competition as they plummet towards relegation as the worst team in the history of the Premier League. So much so that an unlikely candidate has been put forward. Well, 33,000 of them, to be precise. Yes, the club have nominated their astonishingly loyal supporters, who have continued to cram into Pride Park to watch beatings follow thrashings, interspersed with the odd mauling, such as last weekend's 6-0 defeat by Aston Villa. Quite what the engraver will make of his task if Derby's supporters vote for themselves remains to be seen because they will have to be etched into the Jack Stamps trophy alongside club legends such as Roy McFarland, Kevin Hector, Colin Todd and Charlie George.
enzo gambaro Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Derby have the right idea: We couldn't keep a straight face long enough to accept.
Carlos Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 We couldn't keep a straight face long enough to accept. Gartside would probably nominate himself.
bolty58 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Al Habsi, must now have a great chance. Aye, only 56 votes to make up on Andy O'Brien. Al Habsi will p1ss it
