6 Worst Refereeing Decisions ( Affecting Bwfc )

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2008/...eeing.decisions

Above article got me thinking about this from a Bolton perspective.

1) Barry Knight : Ipswich vs Bolton 2000 Play Off's 2 leg ( 5 : 3 ). So many in this game which one do you choose?. I'm going for Mike Whitlow falling over, Marcus Stewart accidentally kicking the prostrate Whitlow in the head and the affore mentioned Bolton player getting a red card for his trouble. A straight red at the time. Knight later said he'd booked Whitlow earlier which was news to MW.

2) Bolton Vs Everton ( 0:0 ) : The Reebok & the Gerry Taggert goal that never was : Ref was or more importantly the linesman ?.

3) Mike Riley : Bolton vs Leicester 2:2 The two sendings off are clear but in this one I'm going for the thigh high studs up challenge by Robbie Savage on Colin Hendry

4) Mike Riley : Boro vs Bolton Carling Cup Final : Again theres a few to choose from but I'm going for Ehiogu's handball in the final minutes, best save in the game.

5) Burnley vs Bolton ( 2 : 2 ) Again a few to pick from in this classic but I'm going for Gales X rated challenge on Nicky Spooner ( least i think it was Spooner might have been Fisher), broke the Bolton's players leg in two places and all but ended his burnden career> Ref ?.

6) Rob Styles : His failure to spot a double handball when we trailed Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates

was criminal and the final nail in Big Sam's coffin

What are your picks

Got to be the double kick for the penalty kick carling cup final v Boro.

Riley made my daughter cry that day

Blackpool's penalty in the 1989 Freight Rover Cup Northern Final, 2nd leg.

Got to be the double kick for the penalty kick carling cup final v Boro.

rubbish

i defy anyone who thinks that spotted that at the time

fer me

disallowed goal in last minute V leeds - 98 - would've won 3-2 with last kick of the game, wasn't offside, far more influential than the Everton 0-0er

for me!!!!!!!

1. Whitlow not getting sent off at Cambridge in FA Cup - funny as

2. v Leciester, Riley the Dick head

3. Knight v Ipswich - you all know how i feel about them!

4. Carling Cup penalty

can;t think of any more at the mo

Can't beat the ref against Wolves when McGinlay chinned one of theirs with a left hook and didn't get sent off...

Isn't that the same game where Gerry Taggart ran about 80 yards and lumped one of the Wolves players?

Isn't that the same game where Gerry Taggart ran about 80 yards and lumped one of the Wolves players?

No that was the league game.

oh and there was definitely contact on the utd keeper in the 58 final

How about the 4,000 minutes of injury time against Blackburn a few seasons back. Could have killed someone that day :diablo:

No that was the league game.

He took about three Wolves out without reply in that game.

There were a couple in the Swindon cup tie in 1989.

Barry Cowdrill's disallowed screamer at our place, their goalkeeper rugby-tackling Mark Came in the box at theirs.

I remember Steve Thompson having a last minute winner disallowed for cock all at home to Swansea in 1985, too.

Somebody already mentioned Gaetano Giallanza's disallowed goal against Leeds in 1998, though it would have been an equalizer rather a winner.

Still would have kept us up, mind.

One which I couldnt believe was Angels 2nd goal in cc semi at the reebok, he was offside no less than 3 TIMES!! I accept some offsides are hard to tell in real time, but he was standing one yard from the goal line, a clear yard behind the last defender, he stopped the 1st shot then the 2nd deflected off him into the net!!

Another which hasnt been mentioned was the first (and only??) 5 second rule free kick given against jussi after shearer was blocking him from drop kicking the ball out. What a joke.

Cant think of 6 but this was a class night, i knew a wolves fan then and he hated bolton and super jon for that, even compared him to "THE ALBION"

For me most are down to bad tackles as I can put up with most decisions.

Cowdrills' 'Offside' goal.

Asa Hartford escaping scott free after cutting Stuart Storer in half away at Stockport.

Des Lytlles tackle on Andy Walker

Trevor Benjamins tackle on Marc Came.

I may be rose tinted, but I cant remember a dirty tackle ever from a Bolton player which has caused serious injury, christ knows some have asked for it.

Disallowing Tony Kelly's last minute free kick against the Ars in 94. Game was over (bar the shouting) but ref still sent Keown off and made TK retake.

Can't remember the exact year but 80's Port Vale away.

The ref played about 15 minutes of injury time and Vale scored as the band played for sports report.

Their keeper (Grew rings a bell) was on one leg and we missed a few one on ones.

Kicked off int seats and terraces at the final whistle.

I still hate that fcuking prick for that! Shearer is a first class arsehole!

That describes pretty much every one of our game at Port Vale around the 80's and 90's!

We've a good record v Port Vale: I think they've only beaten us once in the league in 30-odd attempts.

Some good calls on here that I'd forgotten about

Gallanza's equaliser vs Leeds, pretty sure he was released in the summer. The ref admitted after the game that he did'nt know why he'd disallowed it.

Enzo's Cowdrills screamer vs Swindon, best goal I've seen live that was disallowed.

Peebles : Port Vales : Last gasp winner, was at that game not wrong about it kicking off outside afterwards either.

 memory going , so i need help.

against blackpool at bloomfield rd ,

indirect free kick goalie ducked to allow it to go in ref awarded a goal.

did i dream it ?

When we stuffed Spurs in the cup 6-1 and should've been 7 when the ball went through Walker's legs over the line.

S'pose I'm just being greedy.

That rings a bell with me too.

Alright the blatant hand ball by Ehiogh last minute on the line from Stelios shot.

Still made my daughter cry though.

Didn't Super John catch Bury's Gary Kelly late at Burnden causing Kelly to be carried off. Cue even more scholboy chants of W@anky Wanderers. ::lol::!
