Reet, I missed the Fanzone due to no early bus service, so that's my gripe.

 

For those that where there, what was your opinion, moan, good, bad, indifferent?

 

Oh, and how did you get there early (considering you can't drink and drive/ carbon footprint etc) ?

I'm not drinking due to being a bit under the weather.

Spoke to the powers that be & due to the success, I think the early buses will be on next home game.

All in all, fair play to the club!

The club are or at least 'Zico' has said he'd like an atmosphere like the European games, trouble is many fans where outside in the sunshine and the feeling of being on holiday.

They weren't criticisms, just observations

did a couple of beverages and then went to scotts. no real atmosphere in time i was there but there is no real atmosphere in any of the surrounding pubs so a bit harsh to slag it for that. what was good was that it was all in one room and a big screen. seemed pretty busy when i got there about 12.45 but it would have been better with a dj like the sports bar used to have in manchester for england games. stick the game on with no sound on miles better imo, get the dj to play some tunes to get everyone in the mood. may have got livelier closer to kick off but we fancied a proper pint so did one. get the draft sorted and will attend again. good idea and can see it getting popular once people get used to it being on.

tony kelly must have been to court this morning as i could swear he was in a jacket and tie and a camera following him around. hope he gets off cos he's not doing a bad job so far.

If anyone knows the DJ Wayne Bibby, then he's your man to get this place bouncing.

 

Daft as a brush, big old school Bolton fan, knows his audience after years of doing the Saturday afternoon/night session in Blackpools pubs and clubs.

I enjoyed it in the fanzone,had a reet good drink.

I have had a good chat with the people at the club who organise the match day buses.

 

Unfortunately, for the two games where the fanzone is being trialled, they won?t be putting on any earlier buses.

 

However, if the trial is successful, and the club decides to make the fanzone a regular occurrence, this is something that they will consider.

Good turnout. Thought it was a decent start

 

One suggestion - get rid of the Fosters

Reet, not long back - my thoughts on the Fanzone (by the way, chatting the geezer who was the contact at the club some WW met a few times a few year back - and suggested just this kind of thing - and he said he'll be reading WW and wants as much feedback as possible from everyone):

 

I got there late on - always will due top the travelling and of course can't sup much - but it was clearly getting a thumbs up from people there. It was obviously the first attempt and so can be built upon, but you can see the potential. It at least helps connect the club to the fans a bit more - summat that's been lost over the years, for all sorts of reasons.

Same with the flags on the North Stand. From the ESL I honestly though it looked good, and, again, connected the fans to the club a bit more. Plus it brings back UEFA trip memories, and that can't be bad.

 

Downside? Well if I'd have been a minute later I'd have found the bar shut, even though it was quarter past, maybe 20 past. I was literally the last one served at the end of the bar I was at. Some prior indication of when last orders will be would be good.

 

Conclusion? See, we said it would work all along

Wherever it ultimately ends up it should be kept going - if it does I'm sure the atmosphere will get going as well. Get Supa John along to lead a singsong...

I would have thought that its hard to get an atmosphere going in such a big place. I still think it contributed to the best 3pm atmosphere (for a fcuking shite game) that we have seen for many years!

I thought it was mint. Draught ale would be nice........... but the queues would be a nightmare.

I really enjoyed it. Will be there again for the city game. Hopefully its here to stay. The flags looked good in the north stand too

 

It would have been nice to have had maybe Tony Kelly or another ex-player to say a few words thanks for coming etc ..

 

Well done to the club for listening to and responding to the fans this season. Makes me proud to be a wanderer again.

I enjoyed it in there. The flags were a nice touch. It shows that the club are thinking about the fans.

Overall I thought it was spot on.

 

Just a few things to help improve it:

 

As mentioned above, keep footy on Big Screen, but no sound & have a DJ or someone getting some singing going on.

Call last orders, instead of just shutting the bar...I was not happy about that.

Two free drinks instead of 1!...but perhaps thats too much to ask.

Tony Kelly to have a beer in his hand not coffee...it just did not suite him.

One of the lads asked Tony kelly why he looked slimmer now than he did when he played. He said it's because he's off the beer now

There were 2 bars, the one on the far side was nearly always clear or had a small waiting time with quite a few bar staff on.

went too and was easy to get served at

i went with my twelve year old and really enjoyed, it no queues at the bar (i was gonna have a moan about not serving draught but i guess that really would hold things up!) it was just like sitting in a big pub really but with a better screen and not as far to walk to the ground and that adds to a better atmosphere in the ground early on,

oh yea my sons only gripe....no crisp!!!!!

Cannot fault anyone involved

 

Superb stuff and the only thing that could have happened was to let more folk in I thought - get rid of some tables

 

Atmosphere - the only people I saw trying to get some songs going were Walkden Whites led by Colin (I think anyway...) but in truth it was still an excellent way to start matchday

 

Long may it continue

i think having the reebok rebels getting changed in the area above the room helped as well.
