In today's market - Anelka is worth ?15m (thats what chelsea paid), just under double Elmander... I'd say that's fair. elmander's a good player, he needs time to settle. Keane cost liverpool ?20m and has scored 2 in the Prem, it took anelka until late November to get off the mark. he'll come good. I almost agree with you. Apart from Anelka's value. If he is the lone striker he is often left on his own waiting for the midfielders to get up in support. When we play two up front, the two attackers play too far apart from each other. Given some decent service from midfield when Riga gets a go and Gardner starts, and when he's not helping out in midfield himself and he'll be firing. He short of a goal that's all. I think we should give him run in the team. Elmander's had his time to shine but has failed. Saying that, Megson prob won't have the b@lls to admit that he's wasted ?8m on a player. Megson cant drop Elmander as strikers play off confidence. The lad (and i'm still not convinced) is suffering badly at the moment (like Matt Taylor last year). He''s just been dropped by Sweden; the worst thing a manager could do now would be to drop him. His confidence would hit rock bottom and he then would be genuinely f*cked. He needs a goal and quick. When that arrives i'm sure his performance in front of goal will improve (IMO). Till that time he needs our support. Whether we rate him or not he's still wearing the white shirt. I think Gardner should be at the top of the list for a run in the team at the moment, he and Riga were given the same chance to make an impression and Gardner took his.
