Mark Davies

Featured Replies

:good: :good: Don.t think this has been posted elsewhere, but Mark Davies has been called up for under 21's to play Ecuador next Tuesday in Malaga. From Leicester to Premiership and under 21's debut all in the space oe 10 days or so.

"As we saw from the last Championship, there are also players who come with a late run to get into the squad. In this squad, we are having a look at Danny Welbeck who has done well in the U19s and broken into the team at Old Trafford which is no mean feat.

"We've also brought in Mark Davies from Bolton. Franco Baldini saw him at the weekend and thought he was outstanding and he has played very well on loan at Leicester earlier in the season.

I'm off to the Wolves board again...

And then to top it off Bullard is injured again, although they dont know how bad it is.

It would appear that they have youngsters to spare, 3 Wolves players in the squad.

Muamba dropped?

I'm stuck in the Black country today & tomorrow - I've fantastic time today winding them up in person, and now have more ammunition for tomorrow.

F?ck it, I think I'll have another pint to celebrate.

I can also take the p?ss out of the boing boingers as well, and the Warsaw fan (although, to be fair, he takes the p?ss out of himself unknowingly)

I also see Jack Cork is in and he is playing for Watford! A possibility for the summer.

It's an opportunity to see if any ex-U18's, U19's and U20's are ready to step up for next season when most of the current U21 regulars will be ineligible.

Great news for Davies and a great prospect for Bolton

Wonder if Davies senior also caught the eye for the senior squad?

The article talks about how the relationship with Chris Evans (assistant manager, not the DJ) was key to the transfer

While not on that link the paper goes on to say its the first time he has ever seen someone get a standing ovation in the dressing room for a debut performance.

Do you really or are you just saying you do? This is Bolton we're talking about!

If Heskey can get the nod at the pie eaters, anything is possible.

Capello does like to pick players in form but surely this is a step too far?

He'll get more England games now he's at Villa. The entire England set up centres around the big four or five clubs. If you're English and play for a big team you're in. Theo Wallcott was a case in point. Signs for Arsenal and is almost immediately drafted into the England set up AS A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD!

I'm all for the adage that, if you're good enough then you're old enough but, come on, there were better English players in Wallcott's position who would never get a sniff of an England cap because they don't play for the right club!

Our CEO, in a conversation with a support said that we offered Davies a lucrative four and a half year deal but no where near what Bolton offered which was at a level that even after 15 years in football amazed him. Still I suspect we will get a few more quid for his U21 cap. Good luck to the lad. He will meet thre of his Wolves mates in the U21 squad.
