Doubt it - he's better than Steinsson

You reckon?

He got outplayed by Giggs, no shame in that. And he's a better defender than Steinsson was at the end of last year.

And the disallowed goal should have been disallowed, Ricky handballed it.

Any defender may have had a tough game today however IMO I dont think Ricketts is up to it as a defender, saying that Steinsson isnt the greatest defending but the are both alreet going forward,

don't think there's much between em both and Nicky hunt is no worse than the 2 of them, just seems to have an attitude clash with Meggers

Actually, you're right.

True, true. And he isn't the greatest defender, especially if you compare him to say N'Gotty only a few years back. But if I was picking between Steinsson and Ricketts for defensive ability I'd still have Ricketts, not by a lot, but he does seem to make less fatal mistakes than Steinsson.

Although, to be honest, reading that last sentence back it makes me realise that after about 5 years of having a problem at right back, we still haven't solved it.

Although, he does look a good attacker, and if Davies had turned in the easiest chance of the match he would have got an assist today.

Sat in the Stretford End today sober, and we took the piss in midfield. And how shit is their support? It was like being sat in church. Good vocal following from us, played well too.

Biggest compliment is Ryan Giggs holding the ball up in the corner, wasting time, with 5 minutes left. Said it all. They were on the back foot for the last 25 minutes once we went 4-4-2, difference is they always look dangerous in our box whilst we were short in ideas.

that's what a budget of around 10x that of Boltons get's you.

At least we gave the red tvvats a game, it's not often you see Man Utd pinned back in their own half at O.T.

Every credit to the ginger one for fielding a postive side. :good:

Well I was really impressed today, we were committed, showed lots of flair, controlled the ball against top quality opposition 90% of the time and even at 2-0 down, our heads didn't drop and we still looked like we were going to score. Compared to our more recent performances at OT we looked a different side. Ricketts did look a bit out of his depth at times, but Giggs was at his best today and most right backs would have struggled against him today. Far more positives than negatives to take out of the game. If we play with that fluidity, tempo and creativity for the rest of the season, we'll be pushing for a top ten finish. I've moaned about our negativity and lack of attacking options in the past and today, despite the result was like a breath if fresh air. Hats off to the lads, they did us proud IMO!

I think we just didnt have the luck today. That Zat Knight OG could of gone anywhere even though he should of dealt with it and I think we could of turned them over if we had just rode out that early storm. Great performance and on another day we would of been rewarded.

Very frustrating today as United had a really poor team out and were there for the taking, the first goal was abysmal defending and from then it was an uphill battle, the last 25 minutes they were hanging on and if we had got a 2nd with 5 minutes to go they would have collapsed and we would have gone onto win, couple of points to mention was that we were far better when Klasnic came on and played 2 upfont and I thought Mark Davies when he came on with his driving runs from the centre of the pitch terrorised them, this aint a bad Bolton team now Megson has finally got some balls and started to play an offensive team, time for the Megson haters to bite there tongue and get behind the team.

we went down with a fight were last year we would have roled over. improvments are being made this season as i see it not fast enough for some of the boo boys no dout tho

Just got back and there were no boo boys today - fantastic support from us and them scum reds made no noise at all

A few poor performances today and Zat Knight was shocking but Mark Davies when he came on torn them apart through the middle of the park. On the first 60 mins we deserved nothing but a thrashing but the last 30 mins I was proud to be a Wanderer

I woder why they didn't show such a key moment :pardon:

The Klasnic goal looked good to me.

Good performance again. Could've been 4 down at half time. Could've got a draw by full time.

Some good moments. Can't remember us making as many chances against the dmb's even when we've beaten them.

Can't believe motd didn't show the disallowed goal. Wankers!!

Come on you WHITES!!!

Sat in their end last year sober. Their support was embarassing... Stretford End was silent, the odd outburst from the end nearest away fans, but I genuinely didn't have a Manc within spitting distance of me (except me and my nephew )

Choc full of day trippers

Choc full of day trippers

I sat in their end a few years ago when we got gubbed 4:0 - Me and Mrs CWP were, without a doubt, the only people within 5 or 6 seats that had English as our first language. Most of the match the people around us (who were mostly Asian) were standing up and taking pictures of each other. The next time I went, I got some free tickets in one of the lounges, and we got stuffed 4:1, I think (Speed scored a penalty for us, and Park got two for them) - in the lounge that I was in, Mrs CWP and I were the only two with UK passports, as it was full of Irish folk. It is amazing, but it shows how big their "brand" is globally. They can probably fill their ground with day trippers week in, week out.

Thought it was awful defending for both there goals. Even though we had a couple of chances in the first half they dominated the game up till the last 20 minutes where i thought we battered them... in the end we we're unlucky.. if Cahill's header in the dying seconds was an inch to either side of Van Der Sar it was in... COYW!!

Nowt wrong wit it apart from Ricky's hand ball with a flailing arm after he won the header which flicked it to Klasnic.

If it had been against us and the goal stood, everyone would be be going apesh?t

If we play like we did in the last 25 week in week out, we may well have a very good season.

i think it was handball (only ricky will know if it was accidental or not), but i cant believe motd did not show such a key decision!
