HomerJay Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I would like to see Mark Hughes get the job but after having the millions of city to drop to having the pennies of Bolton would be hard. Glen Hoddle would be alright, might be able to get us some good young players from his academy in spain. Peter Reid would be good too, with some other legends. Anyone's better than smegson!!! 1st post, and its utter, utter shite!
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 1 post and you say smegson & glen hoddle as a possible in it. That's a shame. Regarding Hughes, on a positive he might see it as a challenge.

nwhiteley Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Regarding Hughes, on a positive he might see it as a challenge. Problem is NB, the challenge doesn't pay enough.
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Problem is NB, the challenge doesn't pay enough. Do you know that?
MANICMETAL Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 If i had to place a bet i would say we end up with Darren Ferguson. Its going to be someone with little or no prem exp.
nwhiteley Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Do you know that? Pure speculation, but its probably a correct assumption.
Piemon Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I love it how we all have become ITK on managers pay. you cant possibly know IMO Hughes would come as it is one of the biggest challenges he will face, One thing Gartside will give his man is time. A good 2 or 3 years for us and hes a nailed on cert to replace Whisky Face
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 If i had to place a bet i would say we end up with Darren Ferguson. Its going to be someone with little or no prem exp. I do sincerely hope you're wrong or I'll have to show him some wimmin aren't scared of blokes!
Winchester White Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 In an idel world I'd like to see a younger manager get a go but this is the modern day EPL and that doesn't happen, its too much of a risk when you are a club like us with our budget and need to keep in this division. Hughes would be my choice but I think it may be too soon after being sacked and I am not sure he would fancy coming here anyway. Realistically we are looking at the likes of Jewel, Reid, et al so I would be happier with Reid than the others. I know he has been out of the game for a good while before being no.2 at stoke but his managerial record isn't bad compared to the other contenders? OK then NB, how much do you want for em?
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Pure speculation, but its probably a correct assumption. He's probably getting a nice little payout so money might not be the biggest motivating factor. I doubt he's got a mortgage or car loan. Don't forget he went to City before they were loaded & Blackburn didn't have the biggest budget.
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 OK then NB, how much do you want for em? The soiled underwear? PM me an offer & we'll negotiate!!

I would hazard a guess that Hughes was on a lot more than Megson, and yes, Hughes will get a huge leaving present from City, but as they say, the more you have the more you want. no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I would hazard a guess that Hughes was on a lot more than Megson. I didn't say he wasn't but football isn't like any other career. Being our saviour will look very nice on his CV. To be honest it's more likely to be Monkey Heed, but we can but speculate.
TroySwoosh Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Problem is, if Hughes goes straight into a job with us he'll lose a large percentage of his pay-off from city
newquay central Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Curbishley for me but can see jewel or reid coming . Whoever mr Gartside has a big decision ,lets hope he gets it right this time .
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Problem is, if Hughes goes straight into a job with us he'll lose a large percentage of his pay-off from city I doubt that'd be part of the compromise agreement with a sacking, but who knows.
nwhiteley Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 but we can but speculate. And that is all it is at the moment, speculation. That fact is that Gartside and Davies have a massive decision to make, that may well determine which division we play in next season.
Guest Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) Presumably, we have someone lined up? We wouldn't have relieved him without a plan? Edited December 30, 2009 by boltondiver
TroySwoosh Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 part of hughes pay-off after being sacked will regard loss of earnings, if he's managing, he's earning, c'est voila!
chief wiggum Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Presumably, we have someone lined up? I hope you're right, but I would presume no such thing..
C86 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 What job do you think he can do for us? Platt/bead hair in an afro style in't fanzone, not mine I have none,
chief wiggum Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 part of hughes pay-off after being sacked will regard loss of earnings, if he's managing, he's earning, c'est voila! That's how I understand how these things work, but I may be wrong. The argument I suppose that says we may get Hughes is that he won't want to be out of the game for too long. There are no vacancies at the top sides in the Prem, he is settled in the North West, and may think it's better to get back quickly. If he keeps us up he's a hero, if we go down it would have been Megsons fault. To be honest, I think we would have stayed up with Megson, but hey ho. The fact that the first choice of many, including me, is a DMB and ex-Blackburn makes me feel a bit ill, TBH..
passmosster Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Presumably, we have someone lined up? We wouldn't have relieved him without a plan? Five games to go. Keep us up. Megson has the record. Bad mistake, who would take it with our fans? We haven't got anyone lined up with a track record. I fear for the worst and we probably deserve it.
no balls Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 part of hughes pay-off after being sacked will regard loss of earnings, if he's managing, he's earning, c'est voila! The loss of earnings is down to the employer relieving him of his duties so I doubt there'd be a clause stopping him from working, that usually only kicks in with redundancy or mutual consent. Though, I know that as much as you know it will be to be honest.
