Recent Filums I've Watched

Book of Eli - Denzel Washington - took two attempts to watch it all the way through - a bit of a duff Mad Max type film. Watchable. 4/10

Green Zone - Matt Damon - enjoyed it, always like films based out in Middle East, etc. 7/10

Planet 51 - was enjoying it til I nodded off, kids liked it - must be good. 6/10

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - see above - 6/10

Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon/Robin Williams - look, there was fook all else on this Saturday just gone, never seen it before - quite enjoyed - the scene were Robin Williams was going on about his late wife farting in bed had me in tears - half decent. Oh, and Minnie Driver looked far better than I can ever remember. 7/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - its Swedish so no famous actors/actresses - great thriller - didn't bother me that it was in subtitles great revenge scene on the pervy Probation Officer- looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy in the next week or so - well worth the watch and highly recommended. 9/10

That's me, Jonathan Woss, over and out.

was disappointed with Filth, not a patch on the book but suppose it's difficult to remake in some respects

Walter Mitty, not what I was expecting, but was ok

'Her' - really good.

Stars Joaquin Phoenix as a loner who falls in love with his computer.

Every now and again I let the bird choose a film for us to watch.

She picked "Her" last night.

In a nutshell it's a film set in the not-to-distant future about a bloke (Joaquin Pheonix) who gets a snazzy new AI Operating System ... and they fall in love with one another.

Absolute art-house bollocks.

I imagine the critics will love it though.

She's now banned indefinitely from picking a film again.

:D

Just goes to show, different strokes for different folks.

(she's still banned btw)

:)

I really enjoyed it - very different and completely original. Worth a watch at least for Amy Adams who I'm pretty sure is the perfect woman.

This sounds kinda disturbing but apparently it's very, very good.

7/10 vary good

Dallas Buyers Club. Great film. A definite strong 9/10.

Matthew McCon will surely clean up at the awards ceremonies.

Lost nearly 4 stone to play the part.

After earth on sky tonight at 8

Worth a watch or not?

Not seen it and never would - I find there something a little off-putting about films with more than 1 member of the same family in it.

Well, the sort of films they show on Sky anyroad .

Hahahahaha

I've watched despicable me 2 at least 47 times in the last two days.

Are you finding yourself going a bit mad?! I used to work at Blockbusters and we were only allowed to put a certain selection of U rated films on the screens. I think Ive seen Shrek 2 and The Incredibles at least 1000 times each. Mate of mine put Apocalypse Now on his final shift and put the volume up to maximum, it had broken him!

I finally got round to watching Argo tonight. Thought it was pretty good but let down by a lot of historical inaccuracy - and no mention of the failed attempt to rescue all the other hostages in the desert. An event which was of course depicted by Chuck Norris at the start of the classic film Delta Force

Worth a watch or not?

In case you didn't, no its fucking rubbish, awful

If you did, you'll know what I mean

I watched Gravity at home last night, I wasn't that impressed. It definitely looks the sort of film that needs to be watched on 3D at an IMAX cinema to be fully appreciated

Watched How I Live Now on v day, with the mrs, her choice

I think I would've liked it if I'd been 14, and a bird, and the only other film or book id come across in my life was twilight. Like the mrs.

This week we've done august Osage county, (arty but julia roberts is surprisingly good in this), Book Thief (Great but very arty)  Capt Phillips (enjoyable) and Wolf of Wall Street in which Scorsese  tries to do a wall street version of Goodfellas. Three hours long and i simply could not make my mind up. Good in some parts for very repetitive for long periods. American Hustle lined up next.

Too late.

Can't help thinking it was a platform for young smith to show his acting capabilities

Dog shit

WOWS is way too long at 3 hours. It was like watching the same scene over and over again in places.

American Hustle is very good.

'True Grit' was pretty good on BBC2 last night.

I found American hustle to be shite. Could see the plot a mile off.

Watched dallas buyers club on Friday though. Not your usual run of the mill valentines day Matthew mcconnaghey rom com.

"Her" on Valentines.... what a pile of cack. Didn't even see the finish as I was fast asleep from about an hour or so into it. 1/10

"Wee Man" - quite enjoyed it, Glasgow gangster slash-fest. They could've improved it in a lot of places, but easy to watch. 6/10

"The Book Thief" - watched with the kids, thought it was very good. 7.5/10

Thank goodness!  I thought it was me who just thought is was gash.

Over the weekend I watched...

1) White House Down.  Good Lord!  Thought it would never end.  If it was a 90 minute film it'd have been alright.  Felt more like two and a half hours though. 4/10

2) Seven Boxes.  Paraguayan film with English subs.  About a poor kid on a market who has to guard 7 mysterious boxes for some baddies.  Shit goes bad, obvs.  7/10.
