Recent Filums I've Watched

Book of Eli - Denzel Washington - took two attempts to watch it all the way through - a bit of a duff Mad Max type film. Watchable. 4/10

Green Zone - Matt Damon - enjoyed it, always like films based out in Middle East, etc. 7/10

Planet 51 - was enjoying it til I nodded off, kids liked it - must be good. 6/10

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - see above - 6/10

Good Will Hunting - Matt Damon/Robin Williams - look, there was fook all else on this Saturday just gone, never seen it before - quite enjoyed - the scene were Robin Williams was going on about his late wife farting in bed had me in tears - half decent. Oh, and Minnie Driver looked far better than I can ever remember. 7/10

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - its Swedish so no famous actors/actresses - great thriller - didn't bother me that it was in subtitles great revenge scene on the pervy Probation Officer- looking forward to the 2nd in the trilogy in the next week or so - well worth the watch and highly recommended. 9/10

That's me, Jonathan Woss, over and out.

Might give The Godfather another go since it's on iplayer. Probably tried to watch it 3/4 times before but I've fallen asleep on each occasion.

Gave that a whirl last night

I've done one and two plenty but never three

Two is the best for the de niro back story

But then saw The Untouchables is also on iPlayer at the moment

That's the ultimate gangster movie for me, nothing else comes close

Aye, can't say it stuck with me though, as in, only seen it once

Thought Once Upon a Time in America was absolute dog muck.

That, untouchables, Donnie Brasco abs Godfather are my favourites Gangster films.

The fella Jack Nicholson plays in The Departed is a brilliant gangster character.

FWIW is a cinematic masterpiece. It’s not a action film, or a thriller, it’s a brilliantly written mafia drama.

Best gangster films -didn't we have this recently ? - but anyway...2nd Goodfellas  but best,Godfather 2......cinematic masterpiece is a good description.

Best British gangster films.....3rd, Eastern Promises, & joint best, Get Carter with Michael Caine, or The Long Good Friday. I don't really think of Sexy Beast as a gangster film or it would be in there.

Yeah, i wanted to like it but couldn't get into it

Gangs of New York was also hard to get into but did enjoy it in the end.

Whilst i didn't particularly enjoy Mean Streets De Niro was ace in that

Long Good Friday for me

But Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast is immense, gangster film or not

Donnie Brasco is a cracker that doesn't get mentioned as often as it should. Think I might give it another watch now actually.

Some good filums being talked about here.

IMO, Goodfellas, GF2, Untouchables top tier.

GF1/3, Departed, LGF, Sexy Beast, Donnie Brasco all run close.

Guy Ritchie can only wish...

Yep, Don Logan is one of the best ever film characters, brilliantly played by BK.

Al Pacino is brilliant in almost everything I’ve seen him in but if someone said that is his best role I’d struggle to really argue with it

christmas chronicals 2 on netflix

No mention of Casino amongst all the league mafia filums?

(Not the Mod)

Don’t think it’d make my top 5 gangster films. Very good though

I think/hope they might just be able to pull this off...

Just watched the 5th installment of HP, Order of the Phoenix, mega wand off at the end, Emma Watson has started sprouting some tittage, Ron Weasley is still a soft ginger twat, no sign of scabbers, Siruis Black aka Gary Oldman is Brown bread, he was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange aka HBC, who also she murded Neville Longbottoms parents.

Well worth a watch, I watched it with my INVISIBILITY CLOAK, a wand and a z scar on my forehead.

Lockdown is getting to me 🧹👨‍🎤🧙‍♀️

The one you use when it's your round? 😁

If you value your sanity do not get suckered into Prom

Corden camping it up is less disturbing than Meryl Streep seducing bloke 30 years younger.

The lesbo snog scene is even Disney cheese

The Hill is available on iPlayer at the minute, worth a watch if you haven't seen it or haven't seen it for a while.

The Midnight Sky on Netflix, 2 hours I'll never get back. Avoid.

Final Score.

A mixture of  - Die Hard & Taken  .

Line up 7 cans , plate of whist pies - pigs in bacon and turkey breast

Suspend reality , for 100mins and enjoy.

Plus spoiler alert - West Ham win a match.

Good film on tonight/Monday morning for nightowl gangster film fans...

FilmFour 2am - 'The Drop' with Tom Hardy, James Gandolfini (in his last film), her out of The Girl with...

It's a bit slow paced and Hardy was
being a bit mumbly at first and I nearly turned it off - glad I stuck with it though.

Hardy does a great job and his accent is spot on unlike a lot of Brit thesps playing New Yorkers who do the old 'Whaddya see whaddya know?' laced with English rubbish (looking at you, Tim Roth).

I was surprised to find out one of the baddies was portrayed by a German actor an' all. You'd bet the house on him being a born and bred Brooklynite.

Worth a watch 'live' as I dunno if it's on Netflix...
